One of the best Chinese food spots in the Kitchener–Waterloo area. I’ve been ordering my way through their menu from the very first item, and now halfway in, every dish has been excellent. The chef is impressively generous with portions — both the meats and the vegetables.
The service and atmosphere aren’t fancy and as expected, but the quality of the food consistently meets and exceeds expectations.
I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Song’s Lamian Chinese Cuisine offers early opening and late closing hours. Customers enjoy the delicious spicy hot pot ramen and stir-fried dishes, like the shredded peppers and potatoes. The owners are accommodating to specific dietary needs, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. While some changes like plastic spoons have occurred, the generous portions and polite staff make it a great choice for those seeking a tasty dry pot meal, even on holidays. The restaurant is known for its hand-pulled noodles, with dishes like the braised beef noodle offering rich broth, plenty of meat, and fast service. The authentic taste reminds many customers of local food near Nanjing’s Daxing Palace, standing out among other Lanzhou Ramen in Toronto, which often taste too refined. The menu may include box lunch options at noon, with dishes that look very rich, though not everyone has tried them yet. Some customers note that the noodles are well-priced and the broth is hot, with reasonable portion sizes and a 5% discount for cash payments. However, some dishes sometimes lack enough meat or veggies, and a common complaint is the absence of two slices of white radish, though there is a braised egg. Overall, Song’s Lamian is appreciated for its authentic flavors and friendly service.
