“I rarely give really positive reviews but this is an exception. This is an excellent restaurant without qualification. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The service was polite, friendly and fast. The decor is attractive, intelligent and works. This is a place I intend to return to.“

“The food was delicious! I just got chicken balls and Singapore special meh feng to try this local restaurant for the first time and it was awesome!
Sweet and sour sauce was cold tho but not a huge deal.the portion size was massive. I love how the chicken balls are smaller than regular chicken balls you get elsewhere!
The young man working was very kind and helpful!
The restaurant itself tho needs some TLC. Normally if I walk into a restaurant with much needed cleaning, I walk right out but I really wanted to try this local place as we just moved here a few months ago. With some major elbow grease in the cleaning department, I think a lot more locals would come to this restaurant and not be turned away from looks alone.

“Decent Canadian-Chinese food, among the better restaurants in KW. You know it caters to the local community when they don’t offer chopsticks unless requested.
On par with Cameron. Chow mein was a tad extra crispy, but better than most. Not at the level of a Congee Queen, but good value. Also: no delivery, just dine-in and takeout.“

“Duo style fried rice is so good.
Same taste as the ones I had from childhood.
Brought back a lot of great memories with my old man who passed away last year.
The chef in the back kitchen must be very experienced in Hong Kong style dishes.

“Delicious and fresh food served with skewers in the more traditional Sichuan way. Staff are friendly and quick. Price is better per person than other local hot pot options. The atmosphere and murals show a genuine love for the classic street side hot pot shops. Definitely worth checking out.“

“We know the owner and one of the chefs very well since we come a lot. The dishes are quite authentic Sichuan style and pretty much similar with what you can really find in China. If you love spicy/hot dishes, this is you go-to place in Waterloo. Prices are also reasonable.“

“Great food and outstanding hospitality!
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, made the six of us (one toddler, one 6 weeks old baby, 2 adults, 2 seniors) feel welcome and taken care of, and we were able to enjoy our food which can be quite challenging sometime to dine out with young children. Will definitely be back again!“

“Dumplings were amazing. Ordered the leek and pork dumpling, the pan fried pork dumpling and pork ball wrapped in cabbage or lettuce. All of the dishes were delicious, service was great and friendly. Incredibly affordable for such great food. And all hand rolled dumplings. Can’t recommend enough.“

“This is my go to place to go when i don’t know where to eat. I’ve gone here more times to count. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all so tasty. My favourite is the braised pork intestine and red konjac noodle soup. The food is consistently good and is great value.“
“A wholesome family run, stereotypical hole-in-the wall place (Idk even if I should call it a restaurant) and there’s no english to read but the food is good I got the fried chicken and rice was juicy and crispy, funny I couldnt even order because they don’t speak Engish so I just pointed at the menu. If you like Chinese food for takeout and open minded just send it.“
“Service was a little slow and staff didn't understand english but that didn't become a problem until it came to splitting the bill (ordering was done by writing menu numbers on a piece of paper). I got the YuanYang fried rice and it was very very good.“

“Came with a group of friends. Ordered a few different dishes to share. Surprisingly no extra plates or bowls given out, no tea or water to start. After asking for water it still took 20 minutes or so to come. The food itself actually came before the water did. We also received the wrong order as well, but they didn't charge us for it thankfully after telling them. Food was hot and tasted good, lots of flavour and decent quantities, providing good value. Try the Mapo Tofu! The restaurant looks a little run down, especially if you use the washroom but overall it was a good experience.“
“Even though this store is Chinese food and they understand bits of English the owner is super nice yesterday i was asking about chicken wings then I only ordered a burger combo which i usually get from here the owner packed both the things n was about to charge for both when i said i just asked for wings i don’t want to buy it he charged me for combo n gave me chicken wings for free such great people.“

“It's rare to pass by when you get to Waterloo.
Oh my god, the smell makes me cry.
Nowadays, Lanzhou Ramen in Toronto all has the same flavor. Just like domestic chain stores, the taste is too refined. This shop tastes like the local food I ate at a small shop near Nanjing’s Daxing Palace ten years ago. Whether it's soup, noodles or meat, they all taste authentic.
There seems to be a box lunch option at noon?. The dishes look very rich, but I didn’t have a chance to try them this time.
The only drawback is that there are not two slices of white radish. But there is a braised egg.“

“Yang's is a place I frequently visit with friends. I like the braised beef and rice and tomato base rice noodle. They only give a few pieces of pepper with the braised beef, so it is lacking some vegetables, but the braised beef and shiitake mushrooms are quite flavourful. The unlimited, crossing the bridge rice noodle refill is always nice, especially when you're hungry, and it's great for the price. The normal rice noodle doesn't have refills, but the portion is large, and it comes with more content. The service is quick, but they only take cash or debit. You can also get a $20 membership for 10% every time at all locations for life!“

“Mala tong, I miss you very much:') I have been looking for the right mala spicy and numb taste for so long, and I've finally found you!! I would say, if it wasn't because it is in a popular location, with the Chinese wordings in front, I wouldn't have discovered this place has what I have been looking for, so I hope they change the English name into something that is searchable for those who is also looking for the mala soup!
You basically pick your own food choices, soup base, those in a stick are meant to be bbq, and the price is very good! Right when the bowls arrived, I already can smell that's the right taste! So touched ??
I think the store is well kept, especially given that they handle a lot of oil and spice, just think it would be nice to provide spoons but it's okay, as the soup is not meant to be drunk. I took home with the remaining soup (I brought my own containers), and will come back for more!!“

“I called and ordered on a Saturday for a tray of the lamb curry along with a few other delicious items. Karahi chicken, lamb biriyani and butter chicken and of course the delicious garlic Naan. The food was so delicious and all of my guests really enjoyed! Really love your food, keep it up ❤

“If you like great food that's quick with big portions and front really care about the 'atmosphere's, this is your restaurant! I got the beef with tomato on rice for only 12.99, and they had unlimited free soup as well. I also like how all the utensils, water, and soup are self-serve so I don't have to wait for a waiter to come give me my food. This might be my go-to restaurant in Waterloo from now on.“
