It was my first time at Hop House. I got a bunch of women from my church together to visit. Food was very good, waiter was attentive, and the first hour (7-8 pm) was great. Then between 8-9 pm, it transformed by degrees into a night club, with the music getting perceptibly louder at various intervals, and the bouncer at the door arrived. If you want a loud party atmosphere where no one can hear conversation, go after 8:30. If you want a quieter venue, leave before 8 pm, or else find another venue.

Was a bit frustrated I spent 6$ on sour cream, pico and guacamole for my nachos (2$ each) when it wasn't clear from the server it was an add on. Server said ‘sour cream, pico and guacamole on the side all good?' I said yes as usually some sides are included with nachos. Didn't touch the pico or guac. Bill came and I don't dinged 6$. Frustrating. My food also came 10 minutes after my 2 friends who patiently waited as their food got cold. Would not come back.

First time there and I was really looking forward to it by all the positive reviews. We were seated right by the door so of course our view were patrons coming in and out along with the cold wind. Service was slow but they tried. Crab dip was great along with our drinks. My fish tacos were almost burnt and my date did not receive part of his order. Our server was either really nervous or new but not overly friendly and we were there to enjoy but didn't. Btw, they were playing 80s and 70s music which we LOVE but considering the average age is 35, nobody appreciated it. Not a place for those looking for a quiet date night. Will not be returning.

Honestly can't say enough good things about The White Rabbit, they hit it out of the park every time. Great service, incredible drinks and the food is unreal. Without a doubt one of the best places to go in Uptown Waterloo, we'll be back again soon.

We love White Rabbit! Food is amazing, we usually get tacos. We had the Jerk Chicken and Fish tacos this time, were so tasty! Everyone is so friendly there, great atmosphere and vibe, love their music. Reasonable prices. Great date night out, highly recommend!!!
Been to White Rabbit many many times. Love the vibe. Drinks are great. And in general, food is most often quite good - really good for a bar. This past visit Michael served us and he was GREAT! The right blend of sass and service that is perfect (imo in this type of environment). Mussels were great but the garlic bread that came with them was amazing. Can't believe I'm raving about it because it's usually not my thing, but this stuff is perfect with the curry sauce. You know I'll be back again :)

What can I say about this place? The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable. Our server/ bartender was amazing. She was quick to accommodate my low sugar requirements and make sure that anything sweet was put on the side. Customized my drink to be less sweet and was super attentive without being annoyingly attentive. Lol Food: mussels (yummy), Wonton Nachos and Chicken and Waffles very flavourful and a great combination.

The evening could have been a disaster but for the keen eye and empathy of the woman in charge of the bar. The first status that allowsy table and then they said we'll move to the bar and the bar kind of sucked because the seat sucked and then they found us a really cute little booth where the music was a little less noisy. If you love old school rock and roll it was very good. As for the food, every dish was well prepared and interesting. Highly recommend and particular the lamb chops and the duck spring rolls. I'd go back when in Waterloo again. Also a perfect location to explore the main drag which for a small city is pretty interesting and lively. Skip Kitchener. Also, if you love jazz, it's right down the street from a place called the jazz room, only a block away.

One of my fav places in Waterloo, and I go regularly. Waitress was not attentive at all and we had to flag her down each time. Both last night, and a couple of weeks ago, the music was too loud and it impacted conversation. Also, the “DJ” there a few weeks ago was misplaced and really detracted from a nice date night. It's not a “DJ” kind of place in my opinion....... Leave that for for beer lounge next door please.

We have been to this restaurant twice in the last month and it is excellent. Very good charcuterie board and excellent small plates. Great selection of gins. And the staff are top notch. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed the patio for the first time, it was nice! Great food, good prices, friendly staff. The lighting was perfect. Wasn't too crammed in or crowded. We did retreat to the fire table in the corner on the sofas and anticipated enjoying a few more drinks however the fire pit wasn't working - and it took 20min and constant reassurance that someone would come over to light it. They lit the other one and we continued to sit waiting. Eventually just asked for the bill and left. We understood that there was I guess something wrong w the fire table. But it was disappointing to see us be over looked a few too many times. Just seemed like the staff was a little confused on where they were supposed to be and we were asked the same question 4x by 4 different staff members so it was like no one was communicating together. We will definitely be back ? hopefully the fires are all working next time so we can enjoy that final ambiance to end our evening.

White Rabbit is one of our favorite Waterloo area places to go out for drinks and food! Great vibe love the music they play, relaxed, servers are so nice and food is delicious! J*** chicken, otherTacos are amazing! Reasonable prices. Nice variety of cocktails, alcohol. Highly recommended!!!

We had the j*** chicken tacos and the j*** tofu tacos. Both tasted great and the portion sizes were reasonable. The side nacho chips that accompany the meal are seasoned well, but they don't provide enough sauce (salsa/guac).

We stopped by the Hope House on Tuesday evening and enjoyed a game of Music Bingo and ate some tacos. The shrimp tacos were really tasty. The game is super fun with lots of participation from the host/MC. All in all a lot of fun!
