Come here after work. Great place for drinks. Terry is always great.
Great uptown pub. Fun live music when we were there on a Friday night. Service is always outstanding, barely got seated and a Guinness was in hand! Fish and chips are excellent as are the burgers. Scotch egg was OK. That said I have never had bad food or service after decades going to the Duke at the new and old locations.
Food is great and we have never had an issue. Started going to the Duke 35 years ago. It is a bit loud in the pub so conversations can be difficult.
Great food, great service, great spirits and above all you kept my family afloat :) thank you for being that place in the community of waterloo
Waited for about 45 mins, the patty on the burger we ordered was burnt , fish tacos had barely any fish and way too much sauce, when we asked about the burger they said it is supposed to be like that and if we get a new one will be the same.
Good pub with great Live Music!
What an absolute disgrace. The owners of this establishment are incredibly inconsiderate and quite obviously don't care how their actions affect other people.
The staff is super friendly . it's a cozy little club. Live Music is spectacular on Mondays. An array of very talented musicians who just keep getting better and better
Ordered take out, ended up getting food poisoning from something I ordered, not sure which item it was, but I’m gonna assume the cheese dip for the pretzel sticks
@Shireen that paper is British Pub Paper literally meant for food 🤣it’s a style no different than having red checkered paper. Hilarious.
Anyway, duke is a 5/5, an institution in Waterloo

Mid food and they’re literally gouging you with a $9.50 Guinness
Good people around and they are welcoming
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Tasty pub food. Cold beer. Live music. What more do you need?
Great service and the Toad in the Hole was delicious with a very nice crispy pie pastry. We also had the medium abd dry cajun fries and big burgers and they were also really good - and good value for the amount. There was also really good live music and a relaxed vibe to the place.
great place for a pint and some wings.
