Waste of money and waste of appetite. Thoroughly disappointed with this place. I ordered delivery for a large jerk with rice and a curry chicken roti. The jerk portion claimed to be large but was a very small portion of very, very dry stale ole chicken and useless rice. The curry chicken roti was not available, so it was swapped to a goat and rice dish. Whole thing was lacking flavour and freshness. It could be the biggest rip off in the city. Save your appetite and dollars for some place else. Yuk! Waste! Disappointed!

Pretty average. Hardly any gravy and small pieces. Mediocre taste old chicken pieces. I'll give 1.5 stars to the rice and peas though. They're much better spots out there don't bother.

I walked in to two people behind the counter. One individual was too busy on the phone to acknowledge my as a customer. The other man with arm in a sling was fast asleep. Highly unprofessional. Both men went to the back and a younger lady came out to serve me and did not look happy. I asked for ackee and salt fish with a roti. As they did not have curried chick peas. She wasn't very helpful with helping me substitute. She wrapped my ackee and salt fish Inside of the roti which I find to be anti Jamaican!!! This store needs to be shut down.

The place is nice and clean, very slow service. I waited about 30 minutes, they had made a mistake on my order. The music is so loud it’s difficult to talk to each other even when placing the order. However the oxtail was well cooked and very tasty.

So I ordered the jerk chicken. Large size.I expected to be eating jerk chicken. There is pork or some other meat in here with a tiny bit of chicken. The food is basically tasteless and the pork (if that's what this was) tastes like it's gone bad.I'm really dissapointed and annoyed that I just spent $20 to satiate my hunger and I can't even eat this.
Vibing Jamaican Tunes, good food and compassionate service. The owner offered Rosbie a good meal of rice and stew chicken.Interesting staff. Why were they so afraid of Rosbie? Lmao ?Good Caribbean dishes. Please check out this location.
Got a j*** chicken meal. Not the best I've had. The meat was dry, and surprisingly instead of coleslaw it was served with dry veggies. Not a great mix.

Very expensive. Rude service. Small portions. Long wait time, especially when you are the only customer. I live across the street and will not return.
My vegetarian roti was delicious. The roti wrapper was light and delicate. Inside the hearty chickpea stew was quite mild yet full of flavour. Nicely presented with a pretty carrot salad. The portion was huge — for me it was enough for 2 meals. The store is pleasant. There's a place to sit while you wait. The music is good and the stereo is decent. Island Hot & Spicy is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian roti isn't listed on the menu, but when I asked, it was no problem for the kitchen to make it for me.

This spot has authentic Jamaican cuisine and goodies that I remember growing up and seeing in the household. It’s been very rare to find authenticity in Toronto especially in the west end with Jamaican food and it tastes sooo good.
