Food was really great. The service the second time was great, the first time, not so much. The first night we went there, they had a jazz singer. Way too loud and the service was not great. We liked the food and had been there before so we went back and, no jazz! And the service was great. We will definitely go back when we are in Ashland. But not on jazz night.
I enjoy Martinos but, for the 2nd time in two weeks, I've called for a reservation, had to leave details on their answering service, and never received a response. I suggest they leave the 1990's and use an online reservation app, like everyone else.
I've tried both the upstairs and downstairs and both were about equal. Friendly greetings, decent cocktails, varied levels of service and attention but all friendly. The main dish was good in all cases but bread was dry and seemed old or reheated. Did not try dessert since our mains were substantial for the average person. The atmosphere is nice, nothing outstanding but your typical italien-ish decor with a few years on it perhaps.
