Family oriented with attentive staff. Friday night is all you can eat fried whitefish. Prime ribs nights too. A country vibe featuring a good variety of meals with large sides. We just keep going back.
I had the chicken fried steak & three eggs w/ a side of hashbrowns. The steak was good not great, being covered in country gravy definitely helps. The eggs were cooked to exactly as ordered (over medium). The hashbrowns were disappointing, I love hashbrowns but these were in large strip like chunks, undercooked, with no seasoning or salt to speak of. Overall the meal was carried by the Chicken fried steak and it's gravy which wasn't even a memorable experience.
We stopped by for a "light" late lunch on our way to Portland, and what a cute place we found! The food is hearty (nothing "light" about it!) and delicious! The service was excellent, and we learned about the history of this chain and its founders via a "newspaper" that doubled as a menu. The atmosphere was casual Northwest, and we're so glad we stopped--you will be too!
