Takeout: Pretty expensive food, and what we got was really just not that great. Flavor was extremely lacking in both the Tikka Masala and regular Masala. They were sort of generally spicy, without much else going on. Seemed pretty watery to us. Had to add a little salt. Naan was dry even though we got it with butter. Not sure if it evaporated or we got unlucky and they didn't add it. Also pretty thin naan compared to what I'm used to. Chicken was cooked super well though, and overall it was fine. I did eat all of it. Would give 3 stars but it was $50 for two including a side of naan, which feels pretty expensive for what we got.

Cozy atmosphere and good food. Plain dosa, rava dosa were quite tasty. Situated in a nice neighborhood.

Ordered online, upon arriving I was told they were out of samosas but would substitute it with stuffed nann, I agreed. Upon getting home the substitute was not in my bag. Asked for a refund and was hung up on. This is not how you do business.

Delicious spot tucked away! The tandoori lamb and the Tikka massala thali dinners were amazing. Do yourself a favor and don't miss this hidden gem!!

We have eaten here a lot and usually the food is great. Got a to go order for Mother’s Day and the sauce on the Tikka masala was like water. Highly disappointed. When we called they said it would be ready in 30 minutes and we waited over an hour. I get that it was Mother’s Day but just be honest about the wait time.

Love this place. Always great service, always great food, always great atmosphere, even when every table is full. Never complain about meal adjustments and always friendly, attentive and engaging. 6 stars out of 5

Used to be our “go to” takeaway. Haven’t visited for quite a while, but I’m glad we came back. The lamb vindaloo was tender, spicy and delicious. CTM and Aloo gobi were also good. Everything was ready for pickup on time, so nothing to complain about at all.

It used to be a nice place. But yesterday worst experience. We ordered South Indian combo with rava masala dosa. In the first attempt it was like soggy and cream color. It should be crispy and brown color. Waitress asked me to change and brought back broken pieces of dosa and very dry. Vada was also not good taste. Decided to not visit again.

The atmosphere is still great, but the food is not. They prioritize speed over quality, and that is clearly reflected in the flavor and texture of the food, and in the appearance and demeanor of the staff. I ordered vegetable masala and was surprised to see it was made of frozen veggie mix: peas, corn, carrots, and lima beans! When I ordered tea, they brought me a dusty box of Stash tea bags, and a cup of hot water. It wasn't terrible, but it was dissapointing to see the lack of care and quality that I remember this place once had.

We always have a great meal at Swagat.

We have been eating at Beaveton Swagat frequently in the past 2 years. Food is generally great, 5 stars! But customer service is quite subpar esp for take out orders. Good luck getting someone to pick up your call when placing a to go order. On the flip side, the Hillsboro Swagat continues to maintain impeccable service. Someone always answers when you call. And when you go to pick your food, you do not need to wait for 10 minutes plus for the cashier to come out.

2026 updated review:
Above review was posted post pandemic. Swagat has since done a great job of manning the phones and partnering with various apps to make it easy to order. Their food remains quite good. In my opinion, their goat curry in particular is unmatched in Portland metro area.

Updating from 3 to 5 stars.
