“Very good California burrito. I ordered and a few minutes later a gentlemen got out of his car to come and complain. He was apparently upset that the guy working the grill (who was the only one there) came and took my order before his food was done. He started to hurl insults and the worker kept his cool and asked him to relax. The man got his food 2 minutes later and proceeded to hurl insults as he walked back to his car and said he was never coming back. I got my food a few minutes later and left a generous tip, because I genuinely felt bad for the guy having to deal with this manchild. The food was great and the man working the grill was very pleasant, despite the situation. You may have lost 1 spoiled customer, but I'll certainly be coming back. 👍“

“This was my first time in Portland and I had heard about the phenomenal food truck culture in the city. This one was my absolute favorite of them all!

Kafta house is a “Mom & Pop” owned food truck offering middle eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. The owners are very warm people and treat their customers like family who have come over for dinner.

I had the lamb gyros with fries. The lamb meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned tastefully, as were the fries. I’ve eaten many gyros in my life, but have to say this one was my favorite.

The cardamom chai was the perfect ending to a great meal. Thank you to the owners for the most memorable dining experience during my stay in Portland! I wish this food truck existed in the city where I live. I will stop by again if I come back to Portland.“

“We were downtown for the Starlight Parade with the kids and just happened to stumble upon the Midtown Beer Garden — what a lucky find! Tucked into this awesome little food cart pod in the heart of the city was Small Pharaohs, and let me tell you — it completely blew us away.

From the moment we walked up, the team was warm, welcoming, and super friendly, especially with my kids (which as any parent knows, makes a huge difference). We ordered a mix of plates and wraps — the lamb over rice was packed with flavor, and the chicken shawarma was so juicy and tender my kids devoured it without a second thought. The garlic sauce? The vibe at Midtown was fun and family-friendly, with great energy from the festival crowd, and Small Pharaohs stood out not just for the food, but the service. It felt like they genuinely cared that we had a great experience — and we really did.

“it is in the heart of downtown a couple blocks from Powell Books in the beginning of the park block the most important it is clean and it's a good diversity of food cart they even have a double decker bus that serve coffee in the morning and beer and wine in the evening plenty of seating outside looking at the park block.“

“This is half of the roast beef mushroom and Swiss sandwich. The other half I ate before I get a chance to take a picture. Ever since I moved to this area I have frequent chunky subs, food cart and truly the owners are awesome. The food is hot fresh and delicious every single time you eat it. The owners are incredibly kind. The food is very generously priced and you get a lot for what you pay for. The food is delicious. The sandwiches are good. The tacos and burritos are good. Their hot Cheeto elote is amazing.

The only sandwich I haven’t tried is the Philly cheesesteak cause I lived in Philly for 10 years and I just don’t know if I have it in me to try. It’s not that I don’t trust them to make an amazing sandwich. It’s that I don’t know if it’s gonna taste like a real Philly cheesesteak and there’s something special about that greasy cheese whiz taste that you can only get while eating it off of a Wawa garbage can at 10:30 in the morning.“

“I went out at 2:20 in the morning to get something to eat. I did not expect to eat one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at that price range. The store owner was very nice and gave me a few recommendations for what to eat and he made an excellent choice because the food was amazing. The environment around the outside of the store was a little rough but that was not the store owners fault and shouldn’t take away from the quality of the food. My mom and I have gone multiple times (sometimes in the same week! ) and had a chance to talk to the owners and a couple of the baristas, all of which were very friendly and love to offer suggestions of flavor combos (that is, if you can't pick from the fun flavors they come up with every month). I also love that they offer a dark and light roast coffee and you can still actually taste the coffee, not just the sweetness from the syrup in the fancy drinks. They have a good balance.“

“I'm so blown away by how fantastic this place is! The food was incredibly delicious. So much flavor! I got chicken pad Thai, salad rolls, and a green tea. The pad thai was so flavorful and not spicy (which is a huge for me!) the salad rolls were so fresh! And the tea! Oh my goodness so delicious. And I can't stress enough how incredibly kind they were here. I will be a loyal customer forever now.“

I highly recommend visiting the Midtown Beer Garden whenever you are in downtown Portland and or are looking for new places to eat.
There are plenty of other food charts to choose from besides this one so everyone can enjoy eating their favorite cuisine.
Negative is prices are on the higher end but the burrito was very large- more like an extra large size.
All in all we had a very positive experience the day we went, and I hope you too!“

“Best late night gyros. When we get done having a great time at the club on Saturday, we make sure we leave in time to hit up the gyros stand on 3rd and Stark. The first time we stumbled upon this food cart pod, we chose what we were going to eat solely based on how long the line was. And it was long. I'm not sure how much love is put into making the gyros, but they are damned good. A gyros and a small square of baklava are perfect for the 1:00 AM munchies. Try them, you won't regret it.“
