Don't be fooled by the understated atmosphere. It is a gem of a tacqueria in a convenience store. The food and the Mexican staff are wonderful. Open 8am to 9pm 7 days a week. Every dish that I have tried is amazing. Birria beef tacos with comsomme - best I have ever tasted! Tamales and racquitos are great! Prices are totally fair. Try it, and you will not be disappointed. How did it take me 21 years in Beaverton to find this place?

Came here for the first time yesterday and ordered the Carne Asada Torta, the sandwich was amazing. Loaded with meat, avocado and pickled jalapeños, and the rest of the stuff you’d expect to find on a torta, just as I like them. It held together nicely without falling apart, the flavors were in perfect harmony with every bite and I consumed every last crumb. Anyone who doesn’t give La Chabelita 5 stars just doesn’t know real Mexican food. Also, it’s so hard to find a good torta in Oregon - LC has the best torta in the Portland metro area, TE LO JURO.
