The manager was serving us and completely rude the whole time and very weird. We ended up walking out. We asked who the manager was and the lady said him.. we were shocked because he was so rude. Then as we walked out we said we left because of him and he was talking back to us if front of the whole room full of people. He said .. I’m not even the manager but okay bye. Even when we first showed up they gave a table of 5 only one salsa, when we asked for more they rolled their eyes and got frustrated. I have never had such bad service. Will never go here again!

Food looked interesting at first until I tasted the authentic spicy I haven’t found in other Mexican restaurants. It was delicious. I went on my birthday and they kept wishing me happy birthday. Really friendly workers at this restaurant. And it was packed in the middle of the week so you know it’s good.

I can get over the fact that I asked for no beans and there were beans when served, I did have to wait over 5 minutes for a server to come over and I had to flag them down. I just scooped the beans onto a separate plate. What I can’t get over is the pricing discrepancy. The website menu says my meal was supposed to be 13, the in restaurant menu 15, no biggie, but I was charged 19 then also charged for sour cream and guacamole. You would think since you messed up my meal, made me waste food, that you wouldn’t charge me 3.99 for sour cream and guacamole, most of which ended up on the discard plate because it was put on top of the beans. Our server never once checked in on us, it wasn’t even our server that took our order and then again wasn’t our server or the person that took our order. I was also served water in a dirty cup with red floaties. My friend was so excited to bring me here and it was just a disappointment.
This place is really popular,the plate I ordered it's call the mariachi it came with carne azada, grill chicken,shrimp,rice and beans the carne azada and the chicken test awful like it was let outside for hrs before it was cooked it beside that it was really greasy including the shrimp. The rice and was really good the waiter was really friendly I'm planning to go back and order something different and post an update maybe this time was just not the right time

Update: March 12, 2024. It is with enormous sadness that I post this update. New ownership has turned Pepitas which was at one time a fun, enjoyable and tasty experience! To date, the food and service are a complete mess. A debauchery of confusion!, Terrible food and lack luster service doesn't even hold a candle to the owner whom is a three year old temper tantrum lite boy, very controlling and incredibly sensitive to feedback. Pepitas used to be a great place to eat, relax and enjoy yourself. The service used to be excellent and the staff friendly and very family oriented. We're are no longer making Pepitas part of our weekly "date night" places to relax and enjoy ourselves. The new owner has a lot to learn about running a restaurant, being an owner an adult and accepting feedback when what was working well is now a travesty in the making. We miss the staff who were let go, "fired", and the tasty food! To all, Marta, Nacho and Tigger and the amazing chefs who are no longer there, we wish you well and hope the best for you.
