I ordered Poori (deep-fried whole-wheat puffed bread) and the Dal Bowl with chickpea masala (instead of spinach dal) and omitted the tomato and green chutneys. The Poori was extremely oily and crispier than I remember from another Sudra location. The Dal was flavorful, but spicier than I expected for requesting mild.

So the caveat to my opening statement is that we went on a weekday at opening for lunch. Maybe nobody was ready for us because the food was cold and not fresh. For that price, someone needs to be doing morning prep, not just pulling leftovers from the fridge. Like others said, the portion sizes were very small, leaving a lot of empty space on the plate. Also, this is Indian fusion, not traditional dishes, so be prepared for interesting ingredients.

A very nice vegan restaurant for Indian food not too far from Portland. It has a simple feel good ambience. You have to use a QR code to check the menu and order online. The food is really good. It's mainly comfort food. The tofu bowls we ordered were really good. They have really good lemonades with tangy flavors too.

Oh wow! Was the food so well prepared, cooked, and presented. The dishes were so tasty.Smokey and flavorful rice with Tempe and julienned veggies had such great texture.Fried broccoli and cauliflower florets were perfectly cooked to be al dente and were paired with tangy coconut and sweet tamarind dipping sauces.Creamy "paneer" tofu and kale with a curry sauce over rice was a pleasant texture change. The flavors were bright and brought the heat! The last dish was a kale infused dosa thali, that had Lentil Tamarind Stew, Chickpea Masala, Ginger Agave Roasted Carrot Salad, Spicy Cucumber Salad, Green Chutney, Tomato Chutney, Coconut Yogurt and Potato Pea Curry. Each part of this dish was so good.Their staff was very attentive and provided excellent service!Vegetarian options: Vegan and gluten/ dairy freeParking: Street is available, but I used the parking lot ($5 )Wheelchair accessibility: One entrance is level with the sidewalk. Main entrance has a few inches. Inside the floor was concrete and smooth. Bathrooms were gender neutral and ADA compliant.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten/dairy free

I just visited this place and loved it right on through. Great interior and ambiance, sweet and helpful server, THE FOOD! I can't remember what we ordered but there was at least one PLATE in the mix (Dosa infused ?)ALL the breads were such great fun. Good Kombucha. The place felt light. I just wish we had one in Troutdale!

Yum yum yummy this food is very delicious! Love the coconut yogurt topping and the flavors are out of this planet. Another to add to your list of must visits.

Not new to The Sudra, but new to this location. Delicious vegan Indian food and where I come when I need to load up on veggies. The location is spacious with great lighting and friendly staff. Definitely will keep this place in the rotation.

Wayyy too expensive for portion sizes you get. 16 bucks plus tip for a dinner that left me hungry. Also not authentic Indian food by any means. My meal included falafel, which was the main element btw. So many authentic Indian recipes can be made vegan so easily, idk what they're doing.

This is innovative Indian food ( not a traditional Indian food that uses dairy in most of the dishes). We found later ( after arriving ) that it was vegan resturant . Very good combination of healthy options with salad . Good selection of appetizers. Tofu Paneer options was misleading ( it was Tofu only but cooked to replace Paneer for traditional Indian dish).Customer Service was friendly but working very thin on staff ( one person serving and another at bar) . Drink was served after appetizer and one main entry. Two dishes ( out of four) were served very late.Vegetarian options: Vegan only

We got a spicy cauliflower and a cauliflower and broccoli tempura type dish. She got hot wings. Everything was delicious. The hot wings for me were a no, the taste was good it was a texture thing for me. I did think it was cool that they used bamboo as a bone though. My lifelong vegetarian niece loved it because she could order anything and not worry about meat. I am sooooo not a vegan but everything was delicious. I recommend it for Vegans and non vegans.

Beaverton! The Sudra! Great food: The Soy Curl Tikka Masala Bowl, Potato Samosas Chaat, and Fried Rice are delicious. Great location: Downtown/Central Beaverton is the West Side's answer to getting good food and avoiding inner PDX traffic and other challenges. Support it. Disclosure: I am not vegetarian or vegan and absolutely loved my meal.
