This place deserves 5 stars! The food and service is excellent. I have yet to have had a bad meal here and I’ve been coming since they opened!

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant. We had regularly frequented in the past but it was closed for remodel because of new ownership. All I can say is that we really enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent. We complimented our server on the food and she said they had hired a new chef with the reopening and he was amazing. Everything was delicious so we'll be returning.

We went for lunch today and OMG was it delicious. I started my meal with the arulga watermelon salad. It was absolutely delicious. The presentation in itself makes ones mouth water but the taste, the taste was phenomenal. Probably the best summer salad that has touched my lips. My extremely picky 5 year old had the mac and cheese and has not quit talking about it since. My 7 year old had the kids burger and was also very pleased with his meal. My mother in law had the scallops and risotto and said it was absolutely delicious. We finished the birthday lunch (my mother in laws birthday) with the lilikoi creme brulee, the perfect mix of sweet and tart. Absolutely amazing! The service was top notch! We will definitely be going back in the near future. I need more of that salad in my life!

My husband and I had a amazing dining experience last night, we were stuck in town because of the smoke. Decided to turn around the weekend and go out to dinner. Decided to pick the Black Steer. Remembering they just did a remodel and new menu. We were amazed! Beautiful atmosphere, very warm friendly staff, our waiter explained the details of entrees very well. Food was 10+ was not rushed. We can't wait to go back, for Prime rib on Wednesday served at your table coming in September. Thank you for turning our weekend around.
Was in the bar not ideal on our anniversary! Food was cold and overcooked! Steak was cold and my husband's rigs were crispy black. Not what we expected for the price! 😞😞

Wow, Great Food! Awesome service & very family-friendly. My folks were visiting Bend and I took everyone out to Blacksteer Steakhouse & Saloon. They had something for everyone. It is so nice to have a quality local go-to option nearby our home in NE Bend. Lots of great options to choose from. See you again very soon!

This was our first visit to Blacksteer Steakhouse. Overall, it was a very good experience. It was quiet; service was good - but a bit fast -; and food was very good. The only negative about the food is it was very salty. Everyone in our group said their food was way too salty. We will return and give it another try. It's worth checking out.
Let's start with the positives:
The customer service was great. Everyone was super nice. They sent some drinks out late (an ongoing theme at this place) but they comped them. They also comped some potatoes as they were originally served wrong. The ambience is nice, the place is clean, the location is good, and the cocktails were delightful.
Now with the negative:
Our reservation was at 7, we didn't walk out till 9. Maybe 20 minutes of that was spent eating. I did not listen to people's reviews when they said the food was slow and I should have. If you are reading this, take good company cause you will be waiting for 2-3 hours. The bread was an extra price. If Texas Roadhouse can provide free rolls I think a place that charges at least $30 a plate can. They were out of Ribeye. They sat us at the wrong table, then switched us with another group that had already sat down, poured water, and touched all the table settings. They gave us new tableware, again, customer service was not the problem. The mac'n'cheese was bland. Literally just noodles, butter, and bread crumbs. It was the only thing that came out hot as well. Like burn your mouth so bad you have to spit it out hot. But it was between that or the rest of the lukewarm food. The filet was cooked as asked, but tasted old. I don't know if it was the lack of seasoning or the way they cooked it, but I could probably get a steak from Dollar General and make it taste better. Maybe if the food was worth the wait and price this review would be better, but it wasn't. They had a couple big groups in there but overall the restaurant was rather empty and honestly that makes sense.
With all that being said, if I knew Gordon Ramsey personally I would ask him to save this place. The potential is there, the execution is horrid.

I usually do not write a review. We were in town for an event and made reservations for Blacksteer with high hopes as this was recommended. Easy to make a reservation which was good, the bar tender seemed great but that was the highs of the experience. Yes, there was 9 of us, but not very many people in the restaurant at the time of our reservation. The first red flag should have been our server Brandon yelling at coworkers about his section on a Saturday night (which was pretty empty). Once we sat and finally ordered, took a while for the food and drinks to come, so long our server Brandon went hiding from us. I looked around for a manager, but it did not seem there was somebody around. When food takes 90 minutes to get to a table in my experience a manager comes by to check in but nothing. Once the food did come, potatoes were cold, scallops were served raw, steaks freezing, etc. When asked for the be reheated or replaced, more cold/raw items came out without a clue from our server. Does this restaurant have an expediter checking the food quality? There were truly red flags everywhere, server delivering the wrong food to a table behind us, taking it back to the kitchen and then delivering the exact same plate/food to the correct table while those customers rejected the food as they saw that the server was doing. The level of incompetence was amazing. We did not realize the scallops or steaks have gone bad until we had 3 out of 9 of use sick and unable to perform our duties for the event we were working this past weekend. Not only did we have three guys lose money from work, but one of us ended up in the hospital which is very scary and expensive. So many disappointing things happening for such a lofty price and forced gratuity (which we usually understand with a large party) but this was terrible. I strongly recommend avoiding this place while it is still around.
