Try the whisky sour, it’s amazing. The rolls were on point as usual and their miso soup, it’s substantial, best in town.

This is one of the worst meals I’ve had in Bend in 8 years here. We shared a bento with chicken yakisoba and shrimp tempura sushi. The chicken was inedible and noodles tasted old. We also got a tuna sushi roll which had no flavor. It was odd for a sushi restaurant to have almost no options without fake krab in it. The quality of ingredients seemed low and flavor was lacking. I left with a stomachache.

I love eating here. Food is always good. Seems like we always come when there is some weird and loud disruption by other patrons but that's not the restaurants fault.

Best Hamachi Kama I’ve had. Do not miss the cucumber salad. The service staff(especially Hillary) are kind and attentive. Great place to have a special occasion meal. Sales rep, great lunch spot to impress clients

Wow! So delicious and the best baked mussel I’ve ever had! Jimena was an amazing server and the bartender made our lemon drops on point 🫶🏻

The food is pretty good, but there could be more fresh fish choices. Alot of krab and tempera choices, but I go to sushi for the uncooked fresh fish. They do have some great flavors, but I found myself searching through the menu to find something that works for me.

I’ve been going here for years, great staff, great atmosphere. The last few visits the sushi is lacking in flavor. The rice is unseasoned and dry.
The fish tastes fresh, but the rice doesn’t complement it.

Great sushi, service was little slow
Excellent food and sushi. The service was on point. Tough for me to grade the ambiance, being I came in for an early Monday lunch.

Nestled in the heart of cascade village shopping center you’ll find a diamond in the rough. That diamond is called shinsei sushi. I’ve worked in some of the finest restaurants in the state, including what used to be Asiatico fusion. This sushi restaurant on Newport’s historic bay front brought in political figures, celebrities and anyone who was savvy enough to get a table. Sadly this blue chip restaurant is no longer in business. Shinsei isn’t as good as asiatico was, but it’s still dang good. I’d recommend the eagle eye roll. Not only can you have a top tier sushi experience, but you’re less than 30 steps away from famous footwear, and everybody knows that’s always a good time.
