Excellent restaurant. Great food, great ambiance, great service.
Absolutely incredible! The homemade pasta is to die for! The desserts are heavenly! The specials are out of this world! Incredibly kind but not overbearing staff. Strict with reservations, so show up when you say you will and it will be one of the best dining experiences in Central Oregon!
My wife and I have been dining at Trattoria Sbandati for years, drawn in by the authentic Italian cuisine and high-quality ingredients—like the zero zero flour that elevates their dishes. We’ve celebrated special occasions here, from birthdays to our 10th anniversary, and enjoyed it as a reliable spot for a night out. Reserving through Resy has always been seamless, and we’ve consistently scored a good table. Initially, we were impressed by the food’s authenticity and the friendly service, which kept us coming back.
That said, our recent visits have revealed a noticeable decline in service that’s soured our experience. The pace has slowed considerably, and during our last visit, the waiter got my wife’s main course wrong. Mistakes happen, but there was no effort to make it right—no offer of a complimentary drink, nothing. It felt dismissive. On that same evening, the restaurant was nearly empty—just us and one other group of about six, who seemed to know the staff. All the attention appeared to go their way, leaving us waiting longer than reasonable, on top of the order mix-up. The manager, who’s always struck us as aloof, didn’t once acknowledge us or check in. For loyal customers, that lack of basic courtesy stings.
We’ve noted milestone events like birthdays and our anniversary when booking, but there’s never been any gesture—big or small—to make those occasions feel special. In an intimate restaurant in a small but growing city like Bend, you’d expect a more personal touch, yet it’s always felt like just another meal. The food remains above average, and I’d still rate it highly for quality, but the service has slipped too far to ignore. Our last visit was, sadly, our final one. We’re taking our business elsewhere, to a place that values consistency and customer care as much as we do.
Absolutely delicious fresh pasta, the bread was divine as well. I was really impressed with the quality of the food as well as the service. The Panna Cotta was also extremely good! The prices were pretty fair for the quality of the dishes. I am excited to go back and try other menu items. It was a bit small and people kept running into the back of my chair but we were sat in the middle of the dining room, but I will absolutely be back. The drink menu was also really impressive.
There’s no beating around the bush, this is authentic Italian food. I’ve spent extended time in Florence and this restaurant brought me right back there. A great spot for an intimate dinner
We’ve celebrating with them for 16 years. Always a pleasure. Thank you!
Best in Bend for sure. Consistently excellent. The same cannot be said for the likes of Nome, Bosa, etc. Plus it has a real intimacy (not a euphemism for cramped). Ownership and staff are very warm and inviting every time I go, and its on my list of recs for friends visiting.
I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but when you come across a life-changing food experience, it has to be shared. The restaurant well small is a very cozy atmosphere which makes you feel like you’re having dinner with a whole bunch of friends instead of a very impersonal restaurant. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel like your friend who has come over for a long overdue meal and the food. Oh the food was like heaven the pasta was so so curling really good and the tiramisu well where it just don’t suffice highly highly highly recommend.
We’ve been here a number of times and have had an amazing experience every time! For a cozy, true Italian home cooked meal feel, this is the place.
We got the insalata mista, ragu pasta, meatballs and a special pasta of the night followed by tiramisu - all so delicious!
Shared 3 different pasta dishes and felt that the food was average and a little on the saltier side. Portions were small for the price.

My partner and I have been coming here for 9 years and each time, the service and food has been unparalleled. Truly a hidden gem of Italian authenticity on the outskirts of Bend!! Cheers to 9+ more years, thank you for the soul warming meals and company, we love you!!
Very good, very nice, a little expensive.

We enjoyed the Polpette/Meatballs and Pappardelle Alla Chiantigana Sauce. One word, DELICIOUS! The meatballs were moist and flavorful, the best I've ever had. The pasta dish was equally amazing! We went on a weekday, and it was a pleasant experience. I gave only a 4 for atmosphere because it has a crowded seating arrangement, and I would imagine on a busy weekend loud and challenging to move around. There was a table of 6 to 8 seated right in front of the door and barely enough room to walk by to exit the restaurant.

Mixed couple, came in for a table for two, with several open tops. First waiter started to clear a two top off for us and said manager would help us. Instead she said they were full and we were turned away. We both felt the awkwardness in the managers tone. Won't return.
