My wife and I decided to finish off a Friday afternoon trip to the Gorge with a meal. Unfortunately Google recommend this place. After waiting in front of the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign for long enough that the cook felt required to inform us the "she" would be with us soon. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. Eventually we were seated and given menus... no offer of water. A little later the waitress came to take our order. We both opted for the burger 6oz of beef with a choice of cheese, there were options to upgrade, I added bacon $2.00, my wife opted for the fries $2.00. The menu said that the standard order included Tim's Cascade chips... what I received was bulk bin tortilla chips. My wife ordered the Sierra Mist, which has real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, which she doesn't tolerate... we overheard the waitress telling the other couple that they changed the recipe on the Sierra Mist... turns out it was Starry with high fructose corn syrup not Sierra Mist. My wife opted for unsweetened Ice tea and sugar... which they delivered.

The burgers were dry and there was no mayonnaise, catsup, or mustard on the burgers. Catsup and mustard were available tablesside but not mayonnaise.

My wife inquired about tarter sauce to dip her fries... but that wasn't an option.

After our order the waitress asked if she had ttinformed us that they were cash only, she hadn't but fortunately that wasn't an issue.

When we went to cash out I brought up the chip substitution, she complained about the cost of correcting the menu.

There is a big sign at the register that says 10% discount for cash... but apparently that didn't apply to us, who were required to pay in cash. $44.00 plus a $10.00 tip for poor service, mediocre food, and no atmosphere... next time we're going to McDonald's.

If you have an opportunity to avoid this place I strongly recommend you do so.

A menu if lies, Bland, overcooked food, no atmosphere, and an owner that would rather you don't return.

Never going back...

3p, sign says open 12-7. Door was locked. I looked in the window, tables needed to he bused, ppl were inside. Someone ran over and turned off the open sign.

We saw the sign and it said it was open but it was a pizza place and did not say they were open for breakfast. We thought we would try the door, even though the hours it was opened said noon. We were surprised it was open . There were 2 people at the bar talking , a mother and child sitting at a table and I asked if they were open for breakfast. They said yes and seated us by a window. But went back to talking at the bar. They were in a conversation that was totally loud with foul language and not appropriate. Eventually we were brought a piece of paper that had the menu on it. She said we have a limited menu but if you order what you like and they could make it. We had a simple order, I had bacon and eggs , no hash browns or toast. A cup of coffee. My husband had sausage and eggs with hashbrowns . Coffee. We waited as they continued talking about other people and the language was offensive . The young lady that was there with the child said that it was her sisters and she was there to help out... I told her if they advertised on the sign outside that said back patio, they would probably be very busy as there is only one place in town that serves sit down breakfast other than the small coffee house next to them , which I might add was extremely busy. Had one gentleman come in but wasn't waited on because of the conversation at the bar.. he picked up a menu and the lady at the bar said oh. That's not the breakfast menu and continued to entertain the people at the counter . She finally passed him the menu and told him he could sit any where. He looked at the menu and then left. A group did come in ,but seemed to know everyone and a woman ordered chai tea and they sent the girl over to the coffee shop next door to get her a chai. We never did get a refill for our coffee, but she came to tell us she was in the process of making more. But never came back until she brought our food which wasn't anything special..for what we paid... I doubt we will ever be back , unless her pizzas are as good as she said they were.

Busy busy weekend with over 5000 visiting hikers that couldn’t wait to spend tons of money. Happens every year. Super courteous crowds. Cascade Locks Ale House stopped taking any new food orders at 6pm even though they were open until 7:30 pm. How did we know? The bartender yelled at each new customer entering the place: NO NEW FOOD ORDERS!! WE ARE BOOKED FOR THE NEXT HOUR AND A HALF!! Yep, yelled at everyone that entered! We will be back to support the hikers every year and spend lots of money but we will NEVER return to Cascade Locks Ale House. Voting with our wallets.

Ordered pizza, and it was OK, but my family and I experienced a terrible service. I was doing takeout, and the lady who was working the front was not at all representing a welcoming service to the restaurant .She was rude and telling me that she needed to attend the customer as if i wasnt one. I would have left but my family was hungry.
