The server/bartender was subbing to help the cook out today, and he did a wonderful job. The vegetarian sandwich was incredibly delicious! I ordered the only IPA on tap, and it was refreshing after my strenuous hike in the Eastern Gorge at Tracy Hill in the snow. Great day with a great restaurant stop in Cascade Locks!

Considering this is a tourist town I can kind of understand high prices for food. I paid $17 for a Italian sandwich I expected to be dynamic and unfortunately it was barely ok. Major disappointment and I had to pay extra for a side SO just the sandwich was that much. I couldn't believe it. Same for my mates, thought it would be a awesome cheesesteak and it was meh at best. The place is trying to get sold so maybe that accounted for something not so great and they didn't have stuff for a salad or beef to make a burger. We were hungry and too tired to complain. So just an okay rating.

Walked in at 6:42 with big smiles and great expectations of enjoying dining at a place I fondly remember from my last visit in 2019. They close at 7. Upon entering, we were told “We are not serving anymore” in terse no uncertain terms by an obviously angry server.

The portions for the burger are extremely disappointing, and the fries portion is a joke! You pay $3 extra and you get a few pebbles of fries. And on top of everything, we found a bug in our food.

The only thing that was nice about this place was the outdoor seating but that was still pretty low standard. The food was super basic, Burger was awful, and way over priced. $60+ for lunch for 3 for almost unedible food. The worst part was the female server, she literally threw our food down at another table then where we were seated and made some rude comments. Don't plan on going here at all. She also holds a ruler waving it and pointing it around as you place your order. I thought she might beat a customer with it.

Dined here while staying in Cascade Locks for the night. Was a little worried when we first walked in because there was only one employee working the dining area but it turned out to be a great experience. More and more customers came in after us and this employee handled it like a champ. Our table had pretzels, salad and a large pepperoni pizza. The large was enough for 2 teenagers and 1 adult. The food came quickly even though the restaurant was busy. All of it was delicious.

We went to dinner on a Thursday night so it was fairly empty. I went for a burger but they were taken off the menu. Sandwiches were good, but the homemade fries are excellent. The bartender/waiter was super friendly, informative, energetic and all around great.

a little bit of an oasis in an otherwise tourist area, George is a great host, cook, server, and is part of the atmosphere.if you don't stop and have a Caribbean sandwich then your visit is incomplete. you didn't miss much-except possibly the best sandwich in town, county, state, seriously too.thank you George, we're full and smiling...recommended and will return again, it's only a 45 minute drive.

7/2023. Mediocre food at best. Service was TERRIBLE. I have been coming to this place for years on my way back and forth from the gorge. Haven't been here since the new owners. It is again for sale. I hope if/when it sells it comes back as the great spot it used to be. George is not a good server at all. Waited 15 minutes for him to come to my table (the place was empty except for two people at the bar. Took another 15/20 minutes to get my drink. Never did come to my table once I got my appetizer. Had to go to the counter to pay as server never came back. Saw two customers leave before they even got their order because server was preoccupied by bar patrons. Please please someone buy this place and out it out of its current misery.

Stopped by Cascade Locks Ale House on a Saturday for lunch with my motorcycle club. We arrived at 11:45 but the restaurant didn't open until noon (not their fault... we should have done our research). The first thing to know is that they have a very small gravel parking area in the back. If you don't want to park on gravel or the lot is full, you have to hope to find parking on the street. The ambiance inside is pub style with a lot of wood. It was clean and tidy. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and because the inside didn't seem to have air conditioning (or it was just getting up and running since we were there right when they opened) on such a warm day we opted to sit outside. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food out to you, so if you have a larger party and everybody is paying separately, this can take a while. They gave very limited vegan and vegetarian options, but there are a few. We all ordered sandwiches except one person who ordered salad. They only had one person manning the counter and bringing the food out, and it got a little busy pretty fast so he struggled a bit to keep up. He also brought one round of food out, went back inside for several minutes (maybe to help someone at the counter?) then brought another round of food out, and he ended up having to take our drink order a second time before bringing those out. We had to ask multiple times for condiments. The food was good with meal size portions (one person who arrived expecting to take food home ended up eating all of it), the tater tots were crispy, and the salad ingredients were fresh. It was nothing to write home about but tasty and satisfying, so pretty much what you'd expect from a small pub.Parking: Behind the restaurant they have a small gravel parking area. Otherwise, you have to hope for street parking.
