I was excited to try Belgian food at La Biere. The menu was appealing with great vegetarian options.
The young waitresses were smiling. The patio in front of the Riverwalk was lovely.
Then, the food arrived...
I ordered a portobello opera, a crepe filled with the mushroom, spinach and cheese, usually a great combination.
My crepe was cold, obviously made some other time, and had a scamp filling of a a congealed paste of mushroom pieces and cheese and a small heap of raw spinach. Yak!
Of course, I did not eat it.

I was here for a farewell gathering on a Saturday night. We visited and played a game. I had a yummy crepe and a yummy adult beverage (A Midsummer Night's Bean, made with espresso). As the night wore on, it got quite noisy in there!

Love the Vesper martini. Great food, love the croquettes or anything with potatoes on it. What can I say, I'm Irish.

Do not recommend for groups. My spouse and I have been to this place many times and we love it. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is comfortable. This is why my spouse chose it for their birthday dinner location. I called three days in advance to see if they could accommodate a large group (17) and ended up coming in to get an answer after some phone tag. This was all understandable, but did make planning a bit more difficult. The person that I talked to when I came in was actually great, they took care of everything and asked if we’d need space in the cooler for cake storage, etc., which we didn’t, but the offer was appreciated. When we arrived for my spouse’s celebration, we were told to order at the bar individually. Sure. The food was wonderful as usual. The main problem was that after we sat down and were told to order at the bar, we were basically ignored by servers. No one refilled water, cleared plates, asked us how we were, absolutely nothing. There was confusion every time food was brought out. There were multiple times that someone ordered a drink and it was forgotten about and they had to go back up and ask about it 15-20 minutes later. Honestly, I just expected way better. It was disappointing.

Stood for 15 minutes waiting to be sat. We were the only ones waiting, plenty of open tables. Were told that they would be right with us, as at least 4 employees walked by us. Wife loves the Brussels sprouts, or else we would have left.

What a great place! The decor is cozy and inviting. The menu is unique - not the usual pre-made fare or the usual burger type offerings. I had the chicken sandwich on baguette and it was great -nice combination of flavors and textures on a light and airy baguette. My companion had the squash crepe which was likewise delicious. I unhesitatingly recommend this unique restaurant where the food is prepared by an actual chef, and prices are reasonable. Try it out!!

Our first time dining here and we loved it! Fun, cozy, and relaxed atmosphere. We arrived right at noon when they opened. I was skeptical, but the food and service were great. We ordered the sweet potato crepe, frietes and beer cheese dip, meatballs and really loved the lemon garlic vinaigrette on their side salad. Would definitely come back, thank you ?
