Got the taco salad with shredded beef. Yummy!!
I live in Cottage Grove and eat here all the time. You will love it, you just have to know what to order.
Skip the street tacos and the chicken enchiladas. They are dry and ‘co’s really should do something about it.
Instead, get the Quesebirrilla with the consommé. It is honestly one of the best Mexican dishes I’ve had anywhere. You’ll see why.. crispy mozzarella cheese and a heavy helping of meat, onions and cilantro. Other great choices are the Vic’s bowls.. I usually get the chicken. Also excellent is the chicken fajita burrito which has grilled onions and peppers.

Consistency is key, but that is lacking here, also these prices are just way too outrageous for ok quick mexican food. I use to love going there...but i just cant justify the prices smh. 30 bucks for two burritos? Nah im good, pass.

Pleasantly surprised! Tacos were very full, with fresh cilantro and onion. Salsa bar went hard, the red salsa tasted home made.

Asked for no ice, got ice. Got there quesaberria tacos and containers were not fully closed. Barley hit a small bump and now im cleaning my seat soaked in there sauce. Also didn't get my hot sauce. Very disappointed, now I clean my whole seat wich is soaked. Also my truck curbed twice trying to drive into the drive thru.

Honest review from a full-blown Mexican, and a Mexican chef who graduated in Guadalajara, Mexico.
First off, let me be clear: this is a real, honest review from someone who grew up with authentic Mexican food standards. If I had to rank the Mexican spots in Cottage Grove (1 being the best), my personal list would be:
1️⃣ Cocina Mi Pueblo
2️⃣ Victoricos (Location varies, but this is Cottage Grove location)
3️⃣ Rositas Taqueria
4️⃣ El Shalom Taqueria
5️⃣ El Rincon del Taco
6️⃣ Toreros
I tried their 4 tacos for $12, which honestly is a steal nowadays. Other taco shops are charging $4+ per taco, give you barely any meat, and hand you a sad little quarter of a quarter lime (like the other food trucks here in Cottage Grove) for four tacos 😅 here they gave me half a full lime, which already tells you they care about the experience.
The carne asada was seasoned well and you can taste they’re using good quality USDA Choice meat. It had enough salt and pepper, so I’m not sure where people are getting the “bland” comments from… but let’s be real, sometimes when people are used to super salty food (or dealing with diabetes or high cholesterol like my Abuelo 😆), normal seasoning can taste “bland.” Just saying!
Now let’s talk about the horchata, because this matters. You can instantly tell the difference between powder mixed with water and sugar versus real ingredients. This one tastes like real rice, milk, and condensed milk. You can taste every ingredient, and that authenticity shows.
At the end of the day, if you want great authentic tacos without overpaying, Victoricos is a solid choice, under $17 for one person is hard to beat right now.
If you want handmade corn tortillas and the absolute top-tier beverage and taco quality, then Cocina Mi Pueblo still takes my #1 spot (about $4.50 per taco, worth every penny). But for value, flavor, and consistency, Victoricos definitely earns 5 stars from me. 😋
Rule of thimb: If you come out smelling like authentic Tacos smelt on your clothes like if it were a Gucci Cologne, you know you had bomb tacos.

First time ever visiting a Victoricos. Got a classic burrito with carnitas. It was absolutely loaded with meat, but also meat juice. Therefore I was unable to finish the burrito before the juice destroyed the tortilla and the burrito fell apart into a soggy mess. However the flavor was on point, and I will give them another try.
