Umiya Sushi Reviews
Their rolls are fantastic and the staff is awesome too!!! Definitely will be back!
The food was amazing. Being from Japan, and my family in the restaurant business, I can truly say the sushi is worth going there for. The bento box was plenty, and the ramen was flavorful. The bidet (toilet) was complicated and I couldn’t figure out how to flush it. I pushed every button! 😂

Located near Hyatt and shopping centers, Umiya Sushi offers great food, especially the poke salad and sushi. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is usually friendly, although there have been some occasions where it was slow, such as waiting over 20 minutes for a side of spicy mayo. The menu is impressive, featuring plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The lunch combo, including a Philly roll with smoked salmon and teriyaki tofu, salad, and rice, was a hit, with soft and delicious tofu and a standout salad dressing. The restaurant is a go-to place for sushi lovers in Eugene, with offerings like the 7 piece sashimi combo and California rolls. Even in a large group, the service can be prompt, with a nice touch of a free dessert for birthdays. Overall, the food is pretty good, and many customers are eager to return for the sushi. Customers have noted that the food and service are good, with sashimi being decent, though not exceptional. However, concerns about cleanliness have been raised, such as the bathroom being unclean and the toilet brush on the ground covered in dirty paper. Some visitors feel that the food is okay but not very fresh, and the prices seem high compared to other sushi places. Despite this, the atmosphere can be relaxing, especially during slower hours, and service is polite and timely. Overall, Umiya Sushi remains a popular spot for sushi in Eugene, especially for those looking for a calm environment and good value.
