Only one server and one chef. Consequently we had to wait forever to order and to get our food. We had the pan-fried walleye which was clearly previously frozen and tasted "fishy" in addition to being somewhat soggy. Maybe we were there on a bad night, but I wouldn't recommend it, nor are we likely to return.

On a recent afternoon, my colleague and I were gathering our dishes and belongings at the end of our 1 hour meeting. It was 5 pm and we understood that the coffee shop was closing. We were not aware that it would morph into a supper club at that very moment. The chef/manager/waiter came to our table, grabbed my arm, and shooed us out. As a local business, I wish Seize the Café much success. I hope the gentleman who treated us so rudely will reflect on how he might better orchestrate the switch from café to restaurant, or at least avoid touching and speaking in such a patronizing manner to patrons of the former.

Wonderful food, excellent service. Everything is made from scratch. Sea is very kind and personable. The ambiance is casual cafe. Homemade desserts and pastries as well as delicious homemade ice cream. Go-to spot for lunch or dinner.

I so want to love this place. The food is really good, the location works for me, and I love the casual atmosphere. But I've eaten there twice, and while I've really enjoyed it both times, I can't help but to feel a little disappointed. It could be great - but, for me, so far, it isn't. Still, I'll be back.

The food was fine here and we were eager to try this cafe, but what a shock to find out that a wait person filled a tip in for herself on our receipt after we left. Though we did get a refund for the tip once we pointed it out, this is pretty outrageous behavior and, believe me, I will never step foot in there again.

I went to this place as part of a special event, never been there before. The place is very modest and humble, which is just fine. The food however, was an altogether different matter, it was among the best food I have ever had in Eugene. My wife had fish with rice and asparagus and the fish was perfect, something we seldom can say and the rice heavenly. I had risotto with real fantastic shitake mushrooms, perfectly done and amazing mushroom flavour. Unfortunately we do not live in Eugene, but if we did we would definitely come back many times......

Seize has some of the best good in Eugene. Their dinner menu changes from week to week and I can check their menu on instagram ahead of time. You will need reservations though. Their staff is also incredibly friendly.
