Guy behind the counter was so friendly and informative when I asked questions. I was so worried I would be judged for not knowing much about wine. He was amazing and made me feel comfortable. Great selection of wine that was easy to find what I wanted.

I would not patron this place for a private event let alone anything else for moral purposes. This is my first google review strictly out of necessity. My 73 year old mother was belittled by the female team member when attempting to book a small 9 person reservation. When she advised her that she did not use email, the woman went so far as to use hand gestures and say "well you do use on of these" raising her hand from the counter to her ear mimicking a phone. SHE WAS THERE IN PERSON after having an appointment at the hospital. She has patroned this establishment several times prior over 3 years with her dear friend that she was trying to throw a very quaint bridal shower for. Why on earth would you treat someone like that?! She proceeded to give this place a reservation (I surely wouldn't have, I would have walked out never to be seen again!) and upon arrival (she was 30 minutes early, prepared with gift bags etc and to ensure things were prepared) the establishment did not have the table ready by the time of the reservation and didn't seem to care at all. We did however, have one very kind waiter that did his best to take care for our party. He also went so far as to showcase the custom cake that use to be $35.00 (she previously purchased them) but ended up being charged $72. Apparently a ramekin also costs as much as a to-go box... I understand that this place thrives off tourists in the Oakway Center because it is close to campus...but I am not a "Eugenian". There are way better locally owned options- skip this place and try somewhere that actually cares about you as a human.

Great find in Eugene! I am staying at the Hyatt Place and was not in the mood for the lackluster food and wine offering at the hotel so I ventured out after finding The Broadway Wine Merchants on Google. What a pleasant surprise. I like Italian and French reds and their selection is stellar. Probably the best I have ever encountered in Oregon frankly. I went in to buy a bottle of wine and stayed when I discovered they have food. My steak salad was top notch and I had one glass of the bottle of Italian Amarone I purchased. I highly recommend checking them out. Especially if you are staying at the Hyatt. 10 out of 10.

The employees are extremely knowledgeable and passionate. I love to talk to them about the wines. I always learn something new!

Angus runs a beautiful shop and the staff can always suggest a great bottle to accompany any meal. They don't have a lot to offer the Vegan crowd, but if you're just looking for a drink, this is a great choice

Wow - randomly searched for a wine shop on our road trip and was so lucky we picked The Broadway Wine Merchants!Great bottle selection, such helpful staff and then... **** the quiche at the bistro ***** had the most perfect texture.I would make a detour to go here again.

We have loved Angus and his staff at the Broadway for many many years, including the years when they were downtown. It's the best place in Eugene to purchase wine in store or have some great food and wine in house.

This place… wow..First, being welcomed by David was such a welcomed treat. He quickly guided us to the exact bottle of wine that we wanted.The staff was very welcoming and sat us quickly.After noticing that my partner and I did not have drinks or food in front of us (less than 5 minutes, mind you), David returned to remedy the issue.I was indecisive with my wine choice. David, being super patient, coached me through my wine choice. He knew exactly which one I would want, yet still offered me tastes of each.The food was phenomenal.I know this place had been around for years, but now I know why. Thank you!

Stumbled across this gem while visiting from out of state, and had an excellent experience in their retail wine area. The staff (I think may have been the owner) was very helpful finding us some great local and international selections to our tastes, even as they were busy preparing for a tasting event. Next time we visit, we will be sure to stop by and attend a tasting (this one was sold out, so definitely book early). As someone who loves trying new things, having someone knowledgeable to make selections was amazing. Whether you have $10 or $100 to spend on a bottle, you can't go wrong here. Can't wait to try their bistro. We appreciate the friendly customer service and making our stay in Eugene even that much more fun. Wish we had a place like this back home. We will be back for sure, and definitely recommend.

What a lovely place! The wine selection is outstanding, very knowledgeable and friendly help in the wine store. The little restaurant is also wonderful. The quiche is one of the best I've had, as well as the clam chowder soup. We will be returning!

I think this place is wonderful!… Angus owner is great and his staff very friendly… best soup & sandwiches in town! The place to go!!
