Mo's Seafood & Chowder - Florence

Best chowder in Oregon and (dare I say it) all the US. Pair with a cabbage + bay shrimp salad and some garlic bread and you'll be in heaven.

Sad. My husband took me on a surprise date for my favorite place and a a sunset. Sat inside at a table for 25 minutes and no service. Don't even know if they noticed we left... Went and got pizza and sunset instead...

5PM Tonight on 12/4

Went in and were seated at the corner table — the restaurant was nearly empty, with only three other guests waiting on their food. After the gentleman who greeted us seated us where we requested, the waitress immediately walked over and, with attitude, said: “Can you sit anywhere else!?”

We were already seated and ready to order. Her tone, facial expression, and the way she approached us felt unnecessarily hostile, especially in an almost empty dining room. It made my friend uncomfortable and self-conscious — he is a person of color, and the way she addressed us felt dismissive and targeted rather than welcoming.

Instead of escalating, we chose to leave. We stayed polite and understanding, but the interaction was so unprofessional that we no longer felt comfortable dining there. We walked next door to ICM instead.

We were genuinely excited to eat here, but the initial interaction completely changed the experience. Staff attitude matters, especially when guests are simply sitting where they were placed and trying to enjoy their meal.

My wife and I have dined at several Mo's restaurants during our visits to the Oregon coast (we live near Seattle). Frankly, they're all boring. Excellent food, quick service, wonderful views -- they're all the same: no variety . We love Mo's. Their cabbage salad with bay shrimp is wonderful, as is their clam chowder. This is not a place for a quiet, intimate dining experience, or for a business meeting. It's casual and kinda noisy, but we love it.

Thought this would be a good restaurant to find local seafood unfortunately not, just a place that has a chain restaurant vibe, nothing exciting on the menu and our meals were mediocre at best. Totally disappointed, won't be going back. The only highlight was our waitress who was great

The food was atrocious, really bad. We ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the soup tasted more like a mushy potato stew than clam chowder soup and the bread bowl tasted stale. My wife ordered steamed clams and they were just soaked in liquid margarine. The only thing that this place I was going for it is location.

When I order a clam chowder bread bowl I kind of expect it to contain clams. I got basically potato soup as I could not taste any clams. Last time I will ever order that from them again.

I remember coming here as a kid and now as an adult I was able to bring my family here definitely will be coming back our waiter I believe his name is Noah was very patient with us while we were deciding what we wanted to eat

We were visiting from out of state and wanted a local seafood place. Its very casual and relaxed. Their clam chowder was amazing!! We love to visit local eateries when traveling!
