Food was excellent! Nam Khao was on point, limey and funky and great with some chili oil. Hand made noodles in the soup had an excellent chewy but not overcooked texture. Will be back to try more!
The spicy noodles are out of this world! I always request we order from this spot when I visit my friends in Portland! We've only done carry out and it's been excellent every time! The order is always correct & the food is always good. And the spicy noodles are VERY spicy!

Khao Niew was such a great find. Before my trip to Portland I had looked up Lao restaurants to visit and I felt Khao Niew would have been closer to home cooking than the other options. Since it was just myself, I didn't order much. I ordered the classic Kaopiek (Chicken Noodle Soup), fried tofu, and a Laojito. All items were fantastic!
