Really like this place for breakfast. Indoor/outdoor seating. The servers are kind and pay attention to their guests. The menu will change from time to time which is always a delicious surprise. Lattes and cappuccinos are lovely. Be ready to wait a while. Usually 30-40 minutes on weekends. No reservations. Street parking is very limited. However, free garage parking for the first 2 hours is right next to the restaurant.
Prices are reasonable, seating is spaced comfortably. The indoor seating can be a bit loud and hard to have a quiet conversation.
Took my baby here he did great. They had high chairs. It was very peaceful and the food is fabulous.
Fancy dishes. I had gotten the smoked salmon platter with biscuits & gravy. The salmon was amazing but a little pricey for the serving size. The biscuits & gravy weren't great, seemed out of a box with no sausage in the gravy. Would go back & be more selective in my order
Bakery items were fresh & amazing
Something has changed, it is like going to Dennys. The food quality has gone down, cheap ingredients.
The food was amazing. Service is a little slow due to the fact that they were packed but the employees are still amazing.

It's good. It's even really good. But it used to be great. And it's crazy I seem to be the only one that even remembers their menu 15 years ago because of how good it was Everything is still good - Really good! But it used be something you DREAMED about if you went more than a month without coming. It used be VERY FRENCH ?? menu and style cooking. Now you could rebrand the signage to American and not change the menu except for maybe the croissants and it wouldn't be out of place, hyperbole but basically. If you did that with the menu from 15 years ago -- no no monsieur nobody would be fooled the whole style of the way the food was cooked, the flavors, so obviously FRENCH. Anyway. Still really good. But if whoever runs this chain now-a-days brought this place back to it's old Frenchy ways ... it'd probably be the talk of the town. Portland is really lacking in superb old world and homey cooking done at a world class level that ISN'T kitsch or "modernized".
Service is still great!! That hasn't changed -- especially when it's busy, it's actually better if it's busy once you're seated. They're on top of their game there! Friendly. Helpful. Attentive but not annoying. But I will say when it's quiet or slow, sometimes you'll walk in and like 5 staff are near the door and nobody will greet you or acknowledge you or say hi and if you say hi to them they act annoyed like you should wait for the host to... talk or say hi? ? like I get it I'm waiting for the host, just like it's a weird vibe ? have them greet people or something or say hi it's weird feeling like you walked into an empty restaurant and 4,5,6 employees are right there at the door and none of them even say "host will seat you in a minute" nevermind "hi" ?. It's a pretty consistent pattern whenever I come on slow hour of a weekday morning.
But genuinely the service is otherwise very friendly and just great!!!

Do not buy the baguette here! It was so hard I couldn’t chew it, as if it was 5 days old! I had to bring it back… The server told us it is actually not daily fresh made! When you pay $4,50 it’s really not normal…

This was a great meal in a lovely setting. Our server was the best. Would go again if i am in the area. Be aware that parking is pretty much non existent, tho. You can park a couple of blocks away, tho.
Vegetarian options: Not vegan
Kid-friendliness: Would not necessarily recommend for kids. Pretty sophisticated menu.

Really good brunch spot. The morning mule was amazing. Packed a punch. The baked eggs phenomenal. Kids meal was great.
We ordered an entire tiramisu to go and thats why i rate 4 stars instead of 5
Its $50 and freezer burnt. Not a very good tiramisu and our expectations were high from our dining experience. Cute little brunch spot otherwise. Like the train platform outside my children enjoyed playing while we waited for our table

I am not trying to be a Karen but I paid 30 dollars for a omelette that tasted like the eggs didn’t even taste like eggs it tasted disgusting. The service was horrible. I asked her to go box and she act like I was bothering her. I had to ask to be seated. I’m not sure what you guys pick what you guys charge for if it’s your location or what but you guys food and atmosphere excuse my French but it sucks. And uou ask what dish would I recommend I wouldn’t recommend any dish I wouldn’t tell anyone to come eat there or dine there
Omg! The location is perfect for indoor or outdoor dining. The interior is completely adorable and the staff was very helpful and attentive. I never had a Bloody Mary flight before, so of course I had to try it and it was super fun and delicious. You could definitely taste the difference between the 4 different kinds of bloody marys. I also got the west coast benedict with potatoes and squash. My benedict was so yummy! The croissant it came on was buttery flakey goodness. I could have had 3 more plain croissants. And my potatoes and squash were cooked and seasoned perfectly. No complaints whatsoever.
