A Delightful Experience at Takumi Sushi & Sake Bar
We had a wonderful dining experience at Takumi in Hillsboro, Oregon. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. The parking was easy, and the atmosphere around the area is lovely, perfect for a relaxing meal out.
We ordered the Bento Box and the Flaming Jack Roll, which truly lived up to its name! The roll was brought to our table still flaming (such a fun presentation, see photo), and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The bento box was delicious and well-balanced, with a great variety of items.
As a sweet ending, we had the mango ice cream for dessert, a charming touch that made the whole experience even more memorable.
The chef himself (or someone who seemed like the chef) personally brought our food to the table, adding an extra layer of care to the service.
If you’re looking for quality sushi and a special experience, Takumi is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
We spent over $100 on our food and all three of us ended up sick. The wild thing is we all ordered different things. The people who took care of us were so kind, but it was literally disgusting. We tried so very hard to like it,but very disappointed in the taste of it and how it made us all sick afterwards. Very concerning. Thank you for reading. Take care.

Sushi is generally pretty good. Last night had an unfortunate experience with bad tasting hamachi and a hair in my spicy tuna roll. The waitress checked with the sushi chef on the hamachi who said since it was defrosted that morning it is ok. I KNOW MY SASHIMI and it was not OK. And then there was the HAIR.
Stuff happens, I get it. The fish was bad. Who cares if it came out of the freezer in the morning. But they should not have discounted my feedback so readily and didn't offer to replace the hamachi with something else. Perhaps they need to new vendor? Perhaps they need new management.
I was disappointed and it will likely be a while (if ever) that I go back.

This place is awesome! The sushi is super fresh, and the rolls are packed with flavor. The teriyaki salmon was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked and full of rich, savory goodness. The staff was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, great for a casual dinner or a night out with friends. Definitely coming back!
