We used to drive to Portland for Indian food. Hindustani is the best, authentic, delicious food I have ever had! The staff are helpful and the Manager is very customer orientated....
Very good food! The staff is still getting their Hood River "sea legs" so be patient. Nice people, large portions of tasty food. I will be returning.👍

Hindustani in Hood River is an Indian restaurant that has pleased diners with its food and service. The butter chicken, spinach palak paneer, simosas, and garlic naan were fantastic. The Veg Nizami Handi and Garlic Naan were the stars, and the Veg Nizami Special, Paneer Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan came with complimentary papad to start. The Veg Nizami Handi Special was rich, flavorful, and genuinely delicious, with a nice balance of spices. The Garlic Naan was outstanding, fresh, nicely cooked, and full of garlic flavor. The Paneer Tikka Masala tasted good, though not authentic. The Samosa Chaat and the Indian Tea were among the best tasted anywhere. The chicken curry was absolutely delicious. Portions are quite good, and one curry comfortably works for around two people when ordering multiple dishes. There is a pretty decent vegetarian selection and a full offering of Indian Food, including a lot of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is nice, clean, and inviting with plenty of seating, and the bar area is beautifully done with an upscale feel. Service can vary but is generally very good, warm, and friendly. Prices are a little higher than some are used to, but the food is very good.
