“Sometimes you just need to get off the beaten path—and I’m so glad we did. We were heading south on I-5 and wanted a quick breakfast break when we spotted a small sign for Nana’s Cafe about a mile off the freeway. Totally worth it.
This place is absolutely charming—cute, cozy, and full of personality. I had one of the best biscuits I’ve had in a long time: buttery, crispy on the outside, and perfectly tender inside. Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve given a restaurant five stars, but this one deserves it.
We ordered coffee and relaxed in rocking chairs by the fire while waiting for our food, which was such a nice touch. The person helping us (server, barista, everything!) was incredibly engaging—walking us through the menu, really listening, and helping curate the perfect breakfast and coffee order. What really stood out was the human connection—it didn’t feel like a scripted interaction or something rehearsed. It was a genuine conversation, and that’s something that feels rare when dining out these days.
Everything was clean (including the bathrooms), and I even got a sneak peek at their pizza menu—wow. Not your typical flavors at all. Some of those combinations sounded phenomenal.
This is a small, mom-and-pop spot at its finest. We’ll absolutely be stopping here again on our way home“
