What used to be good service, excellent food and selection of spirits has declined significantly the past few years. Last night, we waited an hour for food, with no visits from the server and I snarky kitchen crew when I asked them about our order. Disappointing.

I had a bizarre experience here during my last visit to Manzanita. I was walking my small dog on the sidewalk and while passing by this bar a man intentionally walked through my leash forcing me to drop it. The door was left wide open and my dog ended up running into the bar, because she smelled food, and because well, she's a dog! I was shocked that someone would be so careless and rude. He had a smirk on his face and knew exactly what he was doing, he even saw my dog run into the bar after him and never tried to help. I immediately went inside and picked up my dog, luckily she was only a few feet into the entrance. As I'm turning around to leave an older blonde woman who I'm assuming was the manager or owner started loudly lecturing me about how dogs were not allowed in the bar. I told her that I was aware and my dog ran in by mistake. I was trying to leave and this woman would not let it go and kept berating me. I noticed that the man who was responsible for this issue in the first place walked straight to the back of the restaurant and entered the kitchen area, so I assume he was an employee. Employee or not, this man was really rude and caused this issue which I quickly corrected. I let the woman know what happened and even pointed in the direction of the young man who was responsible. She didn't seem to care or acknowledge it and kept rudely lecturing me as I'm literally walking out the door. She actually kept me there longer than I would have been if she had just let it go. I totally understand that she needs to enforce the rules there, but she needs to work on her customer service skills. This was a weird incident that the manager should have handled better, and she should have spoken to me more respectfully. I looked at the other reviews and felt validated when I saw all the bad experiences at this business. The overall tone of a workplace typically starts with the attitude of the person in charge. If the employees are miserable and rude, then the owner/manager is probably the one responsible for setting a terrible example. Don't worry, my dog and I will avoid walking near this place at all costs. Bad vibes all around.
Spent 70 bucks for a burger and oyster hoagie and 2 bloody Marys 7 Small oyster on the hoagie and fries oysters under cooked should have gotten shooters the burger had no flavor the fries were good and the drinks better food almost anywhere else

Walked into an open area. Was not sure where to order so I walked towards the "Order Cocktails" area. They weren't overly busy but I wasn't going to interupt a bartender in the middle of making a drink, no big deal. Saw someone wiping a table down behind me so I asked where I could order food and there was a "to go" option. I was hit with "We don't do take out" yet they advertise it. So I left and called just to confirm and was told "We are extremely busy so we won't do take out" Rude.

you come into a dingy and awkwardly open bar area, the outside seating is definitely where it’s at. got greeted by a waitress who made a comment about my appearance and age. seemed to not care to make amends, barely checked on us, didn’t ask how our food or drinks were. felt incredibly disrespected. walked out by our same waitress upon leaving and was not acknowledged. we won’t be coming back. also, over priced appetizers for what you get. we got the prawn cocktail ($20) and shared the cheeseburger w/ fries ($15).

A hostile and dangerous place! The wait staff is barely civil but fully inattentive. Dreadful service even though they are over staffed
But the patrons are local labor class exclusively! They do not like nor want tourists there. I mean it’s BAD! I was lone and was descended upon by two locals who just antagonized me long enough for me to react. Like a well tuned and rehearsed symphony, the entire wait staff gave me abuse like they did it all the time.
I paid in cash and got the hell outta there! Unless you are a laborer AND a local, stay away!!! There was not ONE apparent “money local”

If I could give this negative stars, I would. Never met ruder staff (and I’ve met a lot of them), food wasn't great, and generally felt like they didn’t eant our money. Door guy and kitchen were awesome though.
Fun place, great food just feet from the ocean!

This was one of the few places open for a late dinner past 8 p.m. near Rockaway Beach. Friendly staff, decent drink selection (bonus points for having Vernors on the menu!). The music was a bit loud for the vibe, plus there were not a ton of people in there.
The food left much to be desired. Of course we wanted fish & chips since we were near the coast and assumed it would be fresh since it was $26, but it was definitely poorly-cooked, previously frozen fish. The texture of the fish was undesirable and super chewy, and the batter was not super crispy like proper fresh fried fish should be. Half of what they charge would be a much more appropriate price for a sub-par meal. You'd be better off getting frozen fries & a box of Gorton's & air frying it.

What a dumpster dive! Rude service, automatic 20 percent tip for one person, outrageously expensive nasty food. The only reason this place stays in business is because it’s the only place open in a tiny town when everything else is closed. Definitely don’t waste your money!

Happily accommodated our large group. Friendly staff and good food. Seems like the kind of place that will stay open past "closing" as long as the place is still full. Great beer selection.

3 of us were so stoked for the fish and chips. $26 per order. These must be great! Um...not so much! We are not hard to please people. The fish was so chewy and the breading felt freezer burned and fried. Downright nasty. Gag. The fries were good though!

Way overpriced for the quality. Front desk staff was unorganized and not very nice. Waited over an hour, was texted to come back, then had to wait outside in the rain for another 20 min. Fish and chips ($26) was so so, over-done, and chewy. It was loud and overcrowded to boot.
