Golden Valley Brewery & Restaurant

I stopped in and ordered frys and a medium Ceaser salad to go. They small medium and large. When I got to the hotel and opened the bag, I found what looked to be a small. There were no utensils, and no dressing. For 12.00 dollars for a salad you would expect better.

This place is always so good!! A little pricey but worth it. The cherry turkey sandwich is my favorite! The monthly specials are always fun as well. I recommend checking out the martini menu when they do it.

We went for the brunch. We sat outside. Very nice day. Everything was perfect. This was great 👍

Ribs and fries were good. Seemed to be short staffed as it took a while to place our order and get our bill. However, the food came out quickly.

Good menu selection, but overpriced given the quality and quantity. I had the equivalent meal the next day at another nearby brewpub for half the price. The service and atmosphere are both good, and I appreciate that it's quieter than similar places in town.

I have been coming here for years, now, with my dad for Father's day. The price is always fair, the service is good, and the food is exceptional.

I highly recommend the Red Thistle BBQ burger, it is fantastic! Particularly when paired with either their signature Red Thistle red amber ale or their Doppelbock.

The fries are excellent, the Alaskan Cod fish and chips tastes clean and fresh and delicious. The lemon caper sauce for the F&C is tasty, despite me normally not liking capers!

My father and I, with my youngest son, spent $96 for three entrees and three drinks plus a standard tip; which is think is perfectly reasonable given then quality of the food and good, consistent service despite it being quite busy for Father's day!

10/10. Will return.

Food is amazing, service is friendly, love this place

Lively friendly atmosphere. Interesting menu options, not your run of the mill burger joint. Pork schnitzel was accompanied with red cabbage and natural mashed potatoes. All were good. So was the house burger and fries. Veggie hummus playe included a variety of olives, asparagus, hummus, feta and pita bread with roasted? Garbanzos and a touch of fresh lemon. 👍 Drink menu was extensive.

We had a blast having our wedding welcome drinks here. The team worked with us to offer appetizers and drinks in the event space. Everyone had a great time and the space was perfect. WE had people of all ages and abilities and the space was great for everyone. Many thanks to the staff for accommodating us and making the evening perfect! We will be back soon!

I have always wanted to visit GV, but my previous visits didn’t allow it (different groups with different choices). I am glad I visited this past weekend. And I really hope they can thrive and survive in this market/climate.

First of all, the place has your typical brewery vibe. Dark wood. Featured brewing station behind the glass. Long bar. Lots of tables. Lots, and lots, of space. I will get back to that in a minute.

It was a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly. The hostess was amazing. Quick with a smile and working hard to seat us and other patrons. Our server? Great guy. Nothing affected about him, just courteous service and great customer interactions. I will get back to that in a minute. Prices? Reasonable. Portions? Almost too large. Quality? Good to great for what we ordered. The schnitzel was crispy and the sauce was flavorful. The French dip was filling. Onion rings were crispy. The salads were fresh. The chips? So-so, as they were room temperature and needed a touch more salt or spice to make them stand out. But, still, all around good food at good prices. The beer? We didn’t try it. But they uncorked our bottle of local wine for a small fee and we enjoyed it with what what we ate.

Here’s the thing: this place was basically empty on a Saturday night. The larger main section of the place was closed off (granted, this is a big place). They had what looked like two servers on the floor, maybe three, and I would guess a few/couple of people manning the kitchen, with one of the servers also taking care of bar orders. When I mentioned this to the server, he grimaced and shrugged. I then suggested that they must have done great during UFO weekend and during the previous holiday weekend. He said they did. But he added that they haven’t been doing as great as they have in past years.

That is a shame. A great brewpub in the midst of wine country should be a sure thing. I hope it is. But I got the feeling that something was off. Our server was great. Our hostess was great. The food was solid and the prices were reasonable. So, what gives? I think I know. But, really, what do I know?

My advice? Visit this place if you aren’t interested in small plates, lite bites, and snooty wine. Or visit it if you are into all of those things but need a darn break! This is a local, two location, spot that locals I talked to loved. What more can I say? If you go to a national chain, you hurt this place. If you only go to winery-specific places, you hurt the rest of the places that expand what this area offers (and this area was once a sleepy backwater that was lucky to be close to other places that aimed to be more than they were).

Bottom-line? We had a great meal and a great time and were hosted by great employees. Locals? Keep going. Out of towners? Consider this place a respite from the “swirl and spit” trappings of NeuMcMinnville (you can't stop the townies from roaring down your streets reminding you of what you were and still partially are).
