Not worth the wait or the price, This use to be our go to for happy hour. The service has gone downhill and isn't worth our time anymore.

We usually have good time here but we came here on Saturday and left dude to the waiter/bartender’s bad service :(

It's a typical McMenamins pub. Fun little rooftop bar and mostly all the same things you get at every McMenamins, but nothing to complain about other than it was a little bit old and stinky. I definitely recommend taking the over 90 stairs to the rooftop bar as that will help you work off your delicious truffle as always with McMenamins. The service is good and quirky.

You will notice well founded complaints here about the service in this business. I have to concur: two of the several restaurant staff members have been so consistently (to me and others) violently (slamming glasses, attacking polite utterances with interruptions, barking "I'm BUSY" in response to customers simply waiting in polite and patient silence, violent, unprovoked scowls, etc) and selectively (they behave decently to select customers) RUDE that I and many others who have been nothing but patient and polite with these two have decided to post our experiences here, and not come back. Again, we have all suffered this behavior without having been anything but calm, patient and polite with these two. The experience for me has soured my taste for the entire business that I will no longer be staying in the hotel, as these two work in the building. Please post here if you, too suffer unprovoked rudeness from the two problematic restaurant/ bar servers here. I have heard four other customers turn and talk to me about this weird behavior to me on three occasions, and these customers all noted that the rudeness was selective, and it was severe enough for these people never to want to come back. The restaurant is connected to a very lovely hotel, so I first attempted to avoid the restaurant in the evening to avoid the behavior of the foul evening shift worker, only to come across an almost equally rude server on the day shift. Hiring help may be a challenge, but (luckily) I have found plenty of businesses in the area that do not employ people like these two. It's a shame as well because the rest of the staff (the majority) was congenial to extremely pleasant.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We were there during the lunch menu hours on a weekday. Hard cider was a new experience. We liked the blackberry and the pomegranate flavors. The food was good, and plentiful. IF you have desert, we recommend the pecan cake with a rum and raisin sauce!

Whether you're in the main pub downstairs, or the rooftop bar a few floors up, the menu is pretty much the same. You know what to expect from the McMenamins kitchen, although none of their signature pizzas are on offer here, it seems (no Hammerhead BBQ pizza for me, today!). Both the food and the service are solid: we enjoyed a surprisingly delicious Seven Castles Stockpot (a sausage, bacon and cabbage stew over sweet polenta) and a couple drinks, while moving between locations and collecting stamps for our passports. We were seated immediately in both locations, and other than our ground floor server being a little bit spacey (we had to flag her down to get our second cocktail from the bar), we enjoyed our time both above and below.

It's a fantastic place; the inside is inviting and very social. Everything about it is super friendly, and there is always lovely indoor and outdoor seating, including a setting on Third Street and rooftop access! On the other hand, there are slightly limited options for food, and the quality could be better sometimes. For example, the hummus was very fresh, and everything was good, but when I got tater tots with my burger, they were brutal! When I tried to eat them, they exploded into dust. Also, there are better places for service. Overall, it is an okay place to go, especially if you have a larger party.

You need to ask yourself several questions before committing to this restaurant: are you hungry? Are you willing to wait over an hour for cold food? Is the view worth the mediocre meal you are about to have?I did not ask myself these questions and ended up waiting an hour and thirty minutes for cold food that was not worth the price. I will not make the same mistake again. The folks working the bar tried their hardest to get updates on my order, but were repeatedly hung up on by the kitchen. The worst part, believe it or not, was not the cold, mediocre, overpriced, unsalted food. It was the fact that after I shoved sustenance in my mouth as fast as I could so I could leave, I walked out through a completely empty restaurant. I expected to see cavorting crowds and lines around the block. Turns out, they are just really incompetent.TL;DR don't order more than a drink if you want to have a decent time.

McMenamins has always been reliable for a few if their dishes. This trip however was a disappointment. The Brussels Sprout starter was greasy and lacked any flavor. $13 wasted. Our waitress Victoria was super gruff and impatient. We felt like we were interrupting her. She spent most of the time we were there chatting with a friend leaving the rest of the staff to cover her job and then flew in at the last possible moment to collect her $$ - disappointed...

Service is awful. We watched two customers get seated and served before even a coffee or water refill. The restaurant was empty as well. Food was absolutely fantastic just the service could be better. The small side of fries is 11.75. Atrocious!

It started bad and got worse. We had a reservation for 715 and were met with “you have to wait”. Never asked our name or what time for our reservation. Our server was apparently supposed to be off and was none too happy when they made her stay and serve our table. She was rude and very inattentive as drinks sat completely empty as she walked past the table multiple times. One person ordered a burger and she didn't even ask how they wanted it done. I would name her in this review but she never introduced herself. I ordered the “seasonal special” which was supposed to have kielbasa. I have no idea what the meat product actually was but it was god awful. We thought about asking for a manager but concluded that would not resolve anything. All this wonderful experience for over $120 for a party of 4. Worst dining experience in quite some time
