Great sushi and Mexican fusion. Unique rolls, well done. Birria ramen is fantastic. It can get really loud inside when busy, which is most evenings.

It was incredibly busy when I went, literally packed with guests waiting, but I received my food fairly quickly and I had a really good time.
The food is excellent and I had no complaints.
The bill wasn't too bad either.

Love the different sushi. We got the party platter, which was chef's choice, for a party of six. It was excellent. And, they have margaritas.

Best sushi North of San Francisco! The miso soup was delicious, the sashimi was fresh, and the rest of our meal was fantastic. Great service, beautiful decor. Absolutely terrific. We are ranking this restaurant our favorite in Medford.

Tbone Soundsgood (TBONE)

Summary:
We stopped by this Japanese restaurant in a small town in Oregon on our way through, and while we felt a bit out of place as visitors, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. This spot offered a unique mash-up of sushi and Korean dishes, and everything we tried—from the sushi rolls to the bibimbap—was delicious. However, the service was a bit of a letdown, so I’m giving this place 4 out of 5 stars.

Ambience (4/5):
The atmosphere was nice, especially for a small-town restaurant. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, and the place was packed, which made the environment feel lively. However, being unable to sit at the bar because my wife didn’t have her ID was a bit frustrating, especially given the crowd. It felt like an inconvenience, but that’s part of small-town charm, I suppose.

Authenticity (4.5/5):
The food offered an interesting blend of Japanese and Korean cuisine. We had sushi rolls, fresh sashimi, Korean kimchi tofu soup, and beef bibimbap. Everything was prepared well, and the flavors were spot-on, which was a pleasant surprise considering the location. It was a great mix of authentic flavors across both cuisines.

Flavor (5/5):
The flavors were fantastic. The sashimi was fresh, the sushi rolls were perfectly crafted, and the bibimbap and kimchi tofu soup had the right amount of spice and richness. Each dish was well-balanced, and everything tasted amazing.

Cost (4/5):
Given the quality of the food, the prices were reasonable, but not cheap. However, for a small town with limited dining options, the cost felt fair for the quality of the dishes and the variety offered.

Service (3/5):
The service was where the experience fell short. Since my wife didn’t have her ID, we couldn’t sit at the bar, which was frustrating as it was packed and we had to wait over 20 minutes for a table. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes for our server to come and take our order due to the crowd. While I understand the busyness, it was a bit of a negative experience that dampened the meal.

Tips for Visiting:

1. Be patient if it’s busy, especially on weekends—you might have to wait a bit for seating and service.
2. If you’re craving both sushi and Korean food, this place is a great option, offering a unique combination of both cuisines.
3. Make sure to bring your ID if you plan on sitting at the bar, as they are strict about it, even if you’re clearly over 21.
