This used to be my favorite sushi place in town, but sadly the quality has taken a nose dive. There's very little sushi in our rolls, they forgot part of the order and they make me a little sick. Such a shame, but probably wont be back.

Well we decided to give an old favorite our business tonight but was disappointed by the service. We ordered out they forgot some of our stuff and we had to drive back, just an apology but no offer to discount our meal or offer a discount next time we are in. Whatever happened to taking care of your customers when you messed up. Cost me extra gas and time and not so fresh food when we finally got to eat it.

One of my Favorite sushi places perfect for a quick lunch or a dine in with the special someone. I love to get the pink flamingo and the golden California rolls. When I’m at work, I can easily call in an order for takeout.

I can really appreciate the extraCleaning. And what I mean by that the store wasn't too busy so the workers were deep cleaning which is a very good sign of cleansing us there at Star sushi. Also I can tell the oil was fresh and the batter was fresh with my tempura.

I am giving a low rating due to the quality of the food. We have eaten here numerous times. It has been a few months since our last visit. In the past the food was very good.

We were sadly disappointed in the food this time. The scallop roll was loosely rolled and fell apart when picked up. We had bento boxes. The salmon was small and dry. The salad was old with the lettuce showing brown on the ends. All in all, we suggest going to one of the other sushi places in town. This is the last time we will going to Star Sushi.

We had the Chicken Teriyaki, Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura dinner. It was the best tasting meal I've had in a restaurant in a long time. PERFECTION! Well done!

Goma Seaweed Salad

Presentation: The salad is vibrant and refreshing, showcasing a generous mix of crisp cucumber ribbons, seasoned sweet seaweed, and a vibrant tangle of microgreens on top—all served in a clean white bowl that makes the colors pop.

Taste: Light, crisp, and subtly nutty from the goma (sesame) dressing. The cucumber adds a refreshing crunch, while the seaweed provides a brinyi contrast. The microgreens bring a peppery bite that elevates the whole dish.

Verdict: A perfect appetizer to awaken the palate. It balances flavor, texture, and health appeal, ideal for sushi lovers or anyone seeking a light start.

Rating: 9/10 – Simple, clean, and deeply satisfying.

Seared Tuna & Eel Nigiri Sushi

Presentation: Visually elegant and thoughtfully plated. The bold pink tuna contrasts beautifully against the white plate, flanked by glossy eel nigiri topped with a drizzle of sweet sauce. A vibrant orchid adds a touch of luxury, and pickled ginger and wasabi round out the traditional accouterments.

Taste: The seared tuna is buttery and rich with a clean, oceanic finish, melting in your mouth with each bite. The eel is warm, sweet, and slightly smoky, with a silky texture complemented by the sticky rice and umami-packed sauce.

Verdict: A duo that offers the best of both raw and cooked nigiri. Elegant, flavorful, and well-balanced.

Rating: 9.5/10 – A standout selection for nigiri enthusiasts.

Caterpillar Roll

Presentation: Stunning and symmetrical, this roll lives up to its name. Topped with perfectly sliced avocado and drizzled with a sweet sauce, each piece is uniform and artfully placed. Garnished with sesame seeds and flanked by wasabi and pickled ginger, it’s visually striking.

Taste: Creamy avocado blends seamlessly with the rich eel and savory filling, all wrapped in seasoned sushi rice and nori. The sweet glaze of sweet sauce ties it together with a subtle smokiness and depth.

Verdict: A fan favorite for a reason—rich, satisfying, and beautifully executed. Ideal for those who love complex textures and sweet-savory flavor profiles.

Rating: 10/10 – A sushi roll classic, done to perfection.

Came into eat during lunch with a couple of my co-workers and both me and my co-worker who ate the chicken, ended up with food poisoning. Was in bed for 40 hrs starting that night. Called them on Saturday when I was well enough to, to warn them in case they still had the chicken, and was told that others ate the chicken and were fine so we must not have gotten food poisoning from them. It didn’t feel like they took it seriously at all, which was disappointing and concerning for others who eat there. Would advise others to avoid this place.
