Did this place change management or ownership recently? There's been such a rapid decline here over the past month or so. It's nothing like it used to be. How weird.

This restaurant could be a case study for "how to ruin a restaurant in 30 days."

The food here is terrible! The service is bad, and it’s so expensive! Would not recommend.

I went to Nerburgundian recently with a group of friends, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that the service was not going to be good. Our waitress Noela seemed visibly frustrated when she greeted us, and as the meal went on, it became clear that her attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, especially when she interacted with us. We felt very uncomfortable, as her behavior seemed to be influenced by our race, which is something I never expected to experience when going out to eat.

Aside from the service, the food was incredibly disappointing. My dish was burnt, dry, and lacked flavor—nothing like what I was hoping for. The other dishes at the table were equally bland and poorly prepared, which made the whole meal feel like a waste of time and money.

It’s really unfortunate because we were excited to try this place, but between the poor service and subpar food, I won’t be returning. I really hope the management takes a closer look at both the quality of their food and the behavior of their staff, as no one should ever feel unwelcome or mistreated when they’re simply trying to enjoy a meal out.

We have dined here a couple times, but the food sure has gone downhill recently. It is disappointing.

I think it was the woman owner who served us? She was condescending. The whole experience was offputtting.

Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

We’ve been loyal dinner customers at The Newbergundian for 2+ years. The service was always spectacular, which more than made up for the often inconsistent and pricey food.

However, things took a sudden turn when they abruptly discontinued dinner and got rid of all their best staff. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried their daytime brunch 3 separate times. Each visit felt like we were on an episode of “Punked,” waiting for the big prank on us to be revealed.

To our dismay, the food arrived burnt and heavily over-salted, with the meats overcooked. The portions were minuscule, the ingredients were of low quality, and the prices were exorbitant. The service was painfully slow and impersonal on each visit, nothing like the great experiences we used to have here. It seemed like things were getting progressively worse each time we returned.

We’re at a total loss for what happened to this place!!! It’s clear from the recent reviews that we’re not alone in our disappointment. Don’t let this restaurant punk you, too.

This place came recommended as farm to table, so my wife and I decided to check it out on our trip to Oregon wine country.

When we walked in, the first thing we saw was a case of croissants. We asked if they were made in house? They awkwardly said no. Are they seriously selling frozen croissants?

Once we sat down, we perused the menu. The pasta dish with mushrooms sounded good. We asked if they make their pasta from scratch? Nope, it’s dried pasta. Like the kind you buy at Meijer.

Now on to desserts….cheesecake is always my wife’s favorite, so we asked if they made that. No, they dont make their own cheesecake either.

I’d say the food was mediocre overall, but I just wish they actually made more of it in house.

Their burger is great! Wish it was still open for dinner though. My husband and I used to come all the time, but we no longer can due to their new hours. :(

What happened to this place? My wife and I moved to Newberg about a year ago. When we did, locals gleefully recommended this restaurant -- and we saw why. The food was always expensive, but flavorful. The service was always wonderful.

However, after several increasingly poor visits, we had a terrible experience this weekend. We were tired and didn't want to cook, and Sunday morning brunch sounded wonderful. I had tried their chicken and waffles before and thought they were solid. This time, they were anything but that. We paid $24 for essentially two chicken strips which were fried (burnt) in old, gross oil. The waffle tasted like bad canola oil and was pretty tiny. Portion sizes have always been small here, but it was okay when the food actually tasted good. The quality of ingredients seem to be rapidly decreasing.

Meanwhile, my wife got a chicken sandwich and soup. There was hardly any chicken on it and the soup was super tiny (with a $3 upcharge to boot). The slaw tasted like prepackaged garbage and the soup was so strange I don't even know how to describe it. The sandwich was just so darn disappointing and small.

The owner is SO rude. The portions are tiny and the food is not good. We've given it 3 chances. Never again.

Pretty sure it's the owner or chefs wife who served us. (i say that loosely)
She acted like we were a burden and beneath her. (I assure you we are not)
Narcissist, rude, cold and really 100% ruined the whole experience.

Before I judge a restaurant, I believe in a 3 strike system.
You try the restaurant 3 times before judging it.
We have not gone a 2nd/3rd time because of our 1st experience.

If your visiting Newberg or driving thru and are wanting a good place to eat. I recommend.
