Fantastic LOCALLY CAUGHT seafood and always-friendly, always-knowledgeable staff. Turns out when you treat your team well, they are much happier at work. That care is a constant undercurrent at Local Ocean. (Also, yes: romantic, outdoor seating, great views, and GREAT FOOD.)
We live locally, and have waited 5 years to try Local Ocean. It just seems better suited to tourists. Hesitantly, this year for our anniversary we decided to give it a shot. I got the fishwives stew. Crab legs in the bottom of a thick tomatoe based stew, prefect for getting all over yourself trying to crack. Shrimp were so over cooked, i could barely chew them. Same with the clams and mussels. The 20% service charge is outrageous. Like OTHERS I’ve now seen posted I clearly missed the small sign when I first walked in, and I didn’t study the menu in detail beyond the food items. I was there to have lunch, not to read about the history of your restaurant. As an out-of-town visitor, I never had the chance to check your website.
