If you are looking for the best menu in Newport, be sure to visit The Anchor. Pleasent atmosphere, friendly, personable people and great local menu. Service was quick, and our entrées were delicious. Plating and portions were perfect. This is a family-owned organization with the best dining in Newport.
We tried the Anchor for an early dinner before leaving Newport and we're pleased with everything. Service was quick, good was tasty. Our party of 3 had the touches with carne asada, rodeo burger with Cajun tots and popcorn chicken with fries. Everything was great!

I ordered the double stack of nachos with chicken and was disappointed overall.
Portion size: outstanding
Chicken: was not worth the extra fee for chicken, which was dry and an only consisted of 5-6 small slivers.
Cheese: canned cheese, just like a carnival, sports venue, or amusement park. It’s that disgusting “cheese” with too much sodium, sugar and preservatives.
