Such a great experience. The food was fabulous and the atmosphere made us feel like we were on the coast of spain. 🍷

Wonderful restaurant. Like others have said, dining here is reminiscent of an evening a Spain. If you don’t try the carrots, you’re missing out.

I think they forgot about us. The Host knew we were there. It wasn’t busy. Sat in the outdoor atrium while a group of three waited having finished. Another couple came in, waited and left too. We gave it another 10 minutes. Other restaurants were packed or closed. As we drove away we saw people seated and getting menus where we had waited. We ended up going to Safeway and made our meal at the cabin. So much cheaper. Not quite what I envisioned for a birthday dinner out.

We had dinner here on our last night of a few night stay in Newport for something different than the regular seafood places in Newport and Nye Beach. We had a reservation and were seated right away on a quiet, rainy evening. The restaurant has a combination Spanish/Mediterranean/Beach decor with a large space downstairs and some table upstairs along with an outside enclosed space. Our server greeted us right away with water and we ordered a cocktail and a glass of vermouth. The drinks were interesting and it was nice to have vermouth as an option. The restaurant is a combination of Spanish and Mediterranean with some seafood. We some small plates including scallops, lamb with peas and hummus and croquettes. The food came quickly, was fresh and delicious. Our server did and excellent job, even helping us pick glasses of wine with dinner. We very much enjoyed our meal here and would return on another trip to Newport.

Though a dour day, our special dinner meal at Zurita was our favorite of our 5 day coastal tour. Carrie, the server, was a blast of spunk and the atmosphere top notch, matching the delicious & elegant fare. We all can't wait to return!

I came in for a takeout order and a sangria. If the food is this good out of a container I can't wait to go back to try it on the plate! Delicious, great service, and a great atmosphere. Even the walk up was beautiful. Can't stop thinking about those carrots!!!

From the moment I saw Zurita’s brick red, plant-friendly building, I knew I’d chosen well. It felt warm, inviting, and lively, though most patrons had left by the time we arrived as they only had late slots available when I called. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time, especially if you’re going during peak tourist season!

I was intrigued by the little nook we were seated next to and imagined how lovely it would be to have musicians playing there.

Each dish tasted remarkably fresh, which is always a good sign. Our first three dishes came out right after each other, so I’ll begin with the iconic tortilla de patatas. This one comes with an almond and piquillo pepper romesco, lending acidic vibrancy to a rich and buttery dish! Each bite tasted like luxury: they did not skimp on the butter!

The roasted carrots with whipped goat cheese, herbs, and Aleppo honey made for a beautiful side dish. The golden, purple, and orange carrots popped on the plate, though the carrots themselves popped a little too much—a few more minutes roasting would have been better. The whipped texture of the goat cheese contrasted well with the slightly-too-crisp carrots. And the sprinkled herbs tied all the dish’s flavors together.

I am not a fan of pâté, but I am always intrigued by duck presentations, and my husband wanted to try the duck mousse. It’s served with toast, pistachios, marmalade, a fig spread, and olives.

We also shared the pincho corderos: ground lamb skewers with a yogurt sauce and “Mediterranean rice.” I’d describe the rice as saffron blessed. The meat was juicy and flavorful. It helped quench my foodie desire for variety, but I wasn’t done yet as we added on one more dish! The grilled & spiced hangar steak, which was also available as an entree. I don’t normally like beef served that rare, but I must admit that its juices made the simple seasonings sing and combined wonderfully with bites of roasted pepper.

I sometimes think that chocolate and raspberry desserts feel dated, but then I remember that it’s a classic pairing for a reason—it’s delicious! Zurita prepares their dark chocolate and raspberry custard torta as a dome, and it delivered the lovely sweet, bitter, and bright flavors that we know and love in such desserts.

Spanish wines, sherries, beers, and ciders comprise most of Zurita’s drinks and cocktail menu, as they should. But a few local beers and wines were also available, along with cocktails, mocktails, and sodas. My husband opted for the kalimotxo, which sounded to him like a combination of beverages you’d try at a college party: red wine, cola, and lemon.

I went for the horchata cocktail, which leans into its Spanish origins with Spanish brandy, Grand Marnier, cinnamon, and orange. But by the time we got to dessert, I wanted something that would stand up to that chocolate and raspberry richness. So I ended the meal with a taste of Lustau Oloroso sherry. I love restaurants that appreciate sherry’s worth.

Beautiful location inside and out, very nice staff, wine list is superb, but the food was 50/50. Some of it was good, but some of it was lacking. For the price we paid, I expected more. That said, I would try them again.

Honestly a little surprised this place has such a high rating. My wife and I came here and I feel like maybe we ordered the wrong things?

In my mind a restaurant can’t be 4.7 stars when you can order the wrong things.

Anyways - we got the beet and arugula salad, croquettes, and the scallops from the tapas section. Croquettes were great but the rest of it was just good. Portions very small especially the salad.

They forgot to get me the gazpacho I ordered and we wanted the entree scallops not the tapas scallops.

Maybe if we got entrees we would feel differently. But after the tapas weren’t in a rush for an entree.

The location and vibe there are really cool though, we enjoyed the space a lot.

The space is cozy, artful, and unpretentious. The food and drinks are delectable. The menu is targeted and specifically Spanish. We’ve loved everything we tried (and have been there maybe 6 times.) The servers are warm and helpful. Love this place!

This is the CUTEST little spot in nye beach. I ordered the burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! Well seasoned, perfect portion, and cooked amazingly. I absolutely LOVED the outdoor space, it was decorated perfectly and gave very much back yard of rich neighbors bbq. String lights, nice tables and chairs, even a table that has propane fire center. Only negative thing is that I asked for some dipping sauce for my fries, and the owner asked if I was “sure I wanted sauce, if I tried it I would know there was special salt on them”… yes I want some sauce still. The server was a bit overwhelmed and made my drink wrong but she comped it and remade it perfectly! Would definitely recommend!

EDIT: I came here again to enjoy their delicious burger. I was amazing as usual! However, I don’t recommend ordering drinks here if it’s not just for ambiance. I get that liquor is expensive but $14 dollars for a half of a small glass is ridiculous to me. The owner kindly explained that there’s more liquor than I thought, but I’ve been to almost all of the bars and restaurants around here and I’ve had cheaper drinks with more liquor. I’ll add photos before I had even a sip. They did remake it for me no charge, and I still ABSOLUTELY recommend for a delicious meal and kind service!!

Just left from having the most delicious dinner imaginable. Fresh beet salad, lightly fried squid, and seared sea scallops on a light lemony cauliflower mash. I'm in heaven! Finished the meal with a lemon torta that tingles your flavor senses. Will definitely make this restaurant a stop on our trips to Newport oregon.
