We’ve been here twice so far and their food is delicious! I also have sensitivities to gluten and dairy and they were such a help (I believe everything except their sandwiches are gluten free!)
I especially appreciate the waitress/bartender, the chef, and any other behind-the-scenes staff. The first time we went, it was extremely busy, and these folks kept things moving.
The one mark down for atmosphere: each time we’ve gone, there was a guy (who I believe works there) who occasionally went behind the bar, but otherwise was just talking to his friends the whole time. This was particularly uncomfortable when we could tell the rest of the staff were slammed with customers and handling multiple roles, while he just hung out. I’m surprised he didn’t step in to even help make drinks while he socialized, as the waitress was handling both roles for a packed house.

Our first trip to Bistro Cubano was memorable. We needed to find a place to stop for dinner on our outskirts route around Portland to avoid traffic, which took us through Oregon City. The online ratings and menu were a strong draw, and the restaurant did not disappoint. We were greeted by very friendly staff, and enjoyed the lively bar scene with pineapple mojitos during game 1 of the World Series.
The food was fantastic, and we particularly love the papitas. Do not miss the Cubano.

Cubano sandwich wasn’t hot and had an insane amount of yellow mustard. Fries were burnt…tostones and tea was okay. Fun atmosphere and great service though. Might give em a second try but for the price, it’s hard to reconsider a meh meal

We wanted to go to OC grill but it was closed for remodel. We didn't want to give up our parking spot so walked to Bistro Cubano.
All the food for 3 was exceptional & they even took time to explain the tastes we were experiencing. We will be going back & taking more people with us.
Wheelchair accessibility: Small lil bistro but they quickly moved tables & chairs to make space for the wheelchair.

Very delicious food, everything was well made. The Cuban sandwich was very good, as one might expect, but the fries and dipping sauce were unusually good. I feel like that's the area that most restaurants will cut corners on, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. Every part of your meal will be worth what you paid for, as it should be. Also, I got a passionfruit lemonade that was SUBLIME.
Reasonably priced considering the general area, and I felt like the value was just excellent.
Good service too, maybe could have been just a tad more attentive but that's not a big deal to me. As long as I have enough water to drown my thirst.

Having grown up in Tampa and been exposed to Cuban food, I'm always on the lookout for new Cuban restaurants to try.
I'm assuming please, bar restaurant hybrid. Service got off to a slow start, but was attentive after that.
Portions are generous, could barely finish what I had. Plan on sharing or having leftovers.

I was really excited to try this place out and wanted to love it, but was disappointed. I ordered the orange shrimp skewers with saffron rice, garbanzo beans and Cuban coleslaw. The rice was under cooked and worst of all the shrimp seemed undercooked to the point I was nervous I might get sick if I ate it all. No grill marks on the shrimp and the orange glaze was a watery puddle under my lukewarm beans and rice. The juice from the beans must have made my rice extra spicy. I asked my husband if his saffron rice was spicy and he said no. The heat of the spice over rode the flavor of the rice. I also ordered a pineapple mojito that made me question whether there was even any rum in it at all. Service was slow, but they also seemed understaffed for the amount of people coming in for a Saturday night dinner. The place is nice enough and the music playing had that Caribbean vibe. If I go back I'll likely save some money and order sandwiches instead. We paid $85+ for 2 seafood dinner entrees, 1 cocktail,1 flavored lemonade and an appetizer of Papitas. The appetizer had a lot of potential if they seasoned them more. They were a bit bland. Over $25 for each dinner entrée we expected the portions to be a bit bigger as well. I'm hoping to give them another chance, perhaps it was just a new cook or bad night.

Have been driving by this place for a while now and finally decided to stop in for a casual date night. The food is amazing. The ropa vieja is so so good and my husband loved the Cubano sandwich. The waitress was also great and so attentive and nice. Will definitely be one of our new go to places.
