Good generally. You did not show spicy sauce on the picture; you did not list it in the description; I did not ask for it. Please don’t add things that are not in the description.
The flavor alone is wild! I will be bringing my family home my leftovers to try! Fantastic staff wonderful flavor thank you to the team over at Abu for an incredible dish!

This food cart has earned the honor of being the overall worst food cart experience I have ever had. After looking up the reviews, at least I now know I am not the only person who was met with an unnecessarily hostile attitude immediately while ordering from this cart. After dealing with the extremely rude person who took the order, I finally received it to find the meat was bland, dry, and the pita was cold & tasted slightly stale. The dry, cold pita broke apart when any attempts were made to pick up and try to eat it. Whole thing was lukewarm at best (even though I was buzzed last to pick up and considerably later in our group of friends who had ordered from various carts at this pod). No utensils or napkins were given when picked up, and I definitely did not feel comfortable nor did I want to go back to the rude dude to ask for anything else from this stand again. I ended up throwing the whole thing away after two bites. I would never order or eat here again and would make sure to share my experience with anyone I eat with at this food cart pod again.Yikes.

Kabob Wrap wasn’t really authentic or particularly good. There was at least 3-4 full inches of it that had no meat whatsoever. For the price, avoid this spot. Dolmas were tasty.

I'm a huge falafel fan and this was one the best I've had locally. Fresh, huge falafel balls that weren't overly fried, fresh veggies, fluffy pita, and a super great flavor with pickled veggies and an EXCELLENT (homemade?) hot sauce. Very very good flavors that are also very unique. My new falafel place ❤️

Gyro is tender but not flavorful. Fries are crisp.

Why so damn surly? Maybe consider counseling? Or a career change that doesn’t involve customer service?

Abu Omar Gyros & Shawarma is situated in the back row of food carts in Asylum Food cart pod. The food is vibrant and fresh with excellently zesty and savory flavors. The price is good for the amount of food and it was served quickly. I felt like this was a bit too much food for me for lunch but would have been perfect for dinner (or someone with a bigger appetite than me). Overall, I highly recommend giving this cart a try if you find yourself in the Asylum pod.

Absolutely awful. Worst place in Hawthorne Asylum. I was met with rudeness when inquired about their sauce. What type of place does not answer a customer's question?
In addition, I ordered a falafel wrap, but they gave me a falafel gyro. The man who runs this cart on weekends is extremely awful, and the food is nothing to write home about either too. Weird aftertaste from the falafel, as if it's been thawed or frozen for too long. Next time, just go to the other places that serve falafel wraps nearby. Not worth the time, effort, patience, or money ESPECIALLY with that horrendous service.

Friendly and humorous staff along with good food.
I came to try Uncle Abu Omar's food, and the service was very good. It was one of my best experiences here. He also gave us black Iraqi tea. Thank you. The shawarma tasted the best ever. It will become my favorite place. I advise you to try it.

Rude man working here mid afternoon over the weekend. The food was good but not worth his bad attitude. Will go elsewhere for comparably good gyros from friendly people
