I visited the artbar for some snacks and drinks before seeing a show. The food was pretty decent but there was NOWHERE to sit and that was incredibly frustrating. I tried to go to the restaurant but was refused service due to it being full. Now I understand that can happen but saw empty tables. The host was very rude. We got the food to go and had to go up 2 flights of stairs to find a place to sit and eat. I'm giving 3 stars because the food was decent and the bartender was nice.
We have been coming here for a few years for an early pre-Symphony Concert dinner and always thought the food was good value for downtown Portland. The new menu this fall has added some interesting items - I had the Short Rib Cottage Pie and it was excellent and made with sweet potatoes. It came with a Petite Green Salad which was anything but Petite - I did not finish mine! My wife had the Quiche of the Day which was butternut squash.
