Houston native, visiting Portland for the second time. Last time we came, we passed by Awafi and didn’t get to try it! This time, we got to chat with Ali, who was very kind and shared that he runs the cart alone, and we finally got to try the kofta and chicken saj. Both were delicious and reflected Iraqi cuisine beautifully. We will be back!
My go to for good falafel in Portland. The amo running the cart is so kind! Amazing food and even better people!!

I go here 2-3 days per week for lunch. Food is delicious and well priced. The lamb plate is my go to, no clue how gets the lamb so tender. The owner is super friendly and clearly cares about his customers and you can tell how popular he and his food is by the number of people who walk past and say hello to him. If he moved his cart to another part of town, I'd seriously consider finding a new job in that area.
