Had a great lunch here on a Saturday afternoon; food was fresh and delicious. Hana was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. She had good suggestions and recommendations on what to try. We had a new appetizer with spicy tuna and avocado on a crispy cracker that was amazing. I love the mural in the dining room. This place is my favorite sushi in the NW neighborhood.

The Octopus was perfectly seared, tender and tasty. My daughter tried the Salmon flight and loved it. The Green Machine was astoundingly good. The manager came by and introduced the types of Salmon. He was awesome too! Love this place!

I was in town visiting a friend who has a severe gluten allergy and I found Bamboo Sushi on the gluten free app. Looked into it and made a reservation. Informed the server of the allergy and she said there were only 2 items with gluten. One was the burger but could likely be substituted with lettuce instead of the bun and another was an option garnish. Even the tempura is gluten free which is very rare. We decided to get Wasabi Honey Chicken and Smashed Avocado crispy rice as an appetizer. The chicken was really good, had some heat/spiciness, but excellent flavor. The Smashed Avocado crispy rice was really good too but we both liked the chicken more. She got the Unicorn sushi and asked for eel sauce, and I went with the green machine which is vegetarian and asked for spicy aioli. We both really enjoyed the food and we ended with the Matcha panna Cotta. I'm not a fan of matcha so it wasn't for me, but she really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the food so much we came back 2 nights later with her Aunt and ordered chicken karaage for an appetizer (no picture). She got the garden of Eden Sushi and the Friday the 13th sushi and enjoyed both but I think she likes the Friday the 13th better. I got the chili garlic chicken with steamed rice which was very tasty. And her Aunt got the grilled octopus (no picture) and said it too was delicious. Highly recommend checking Bamboo Sushi out. It's a small restaurant and can be a little cramped but the food is delicious!

Service has DECLINED DRASTICALLY over the last year or so. What once was a desirable place for a night out, should be overlooked and taken for what it is, a place who forgot to put the guest first and create a memorable experience. There's been a definite turnover problem in the last 2ish years, from. The sushi chefs to FOH staff. Someone needs to come in and revitalize this establishment, and bring it back up to the standards that it used to live by. Until then, STEAR CLEAR!!

I visited this restaurant while traveling to Portland on business. It was delicious! I like a kick - the Spicy edamame and the Friday the 13th roll were just what I was looking for! I sat by the open window in the sun - love that!

Absolutely favorite sushi place in Portland!

Definitely an overrated restaurant, the food was sub par and the service was good but very slow. The place was nice but it doesn’t smell very good inside. It’s also very overpriced for what you get.

Amazing flavors, fresh fish, incredible staff; this is our favorite sushi restaurant in PDX! I have celiac disease and everything on the menu is gluten free (except a burger bun). We LOVE the green machine (reg and with salmon), the cauliflower tempura and dew drop martini. Candace is THE BEST server and always goes above and beyond!

Came to the 23rd location for a few bites of sushi, but also cocktails and the bartender Nick that we had made us literally the best cocktail of the entire evening in Portland. We asked for a classic martini variation with an Asian twist and he made us a tuxedo number two but replaced the driver moose with sake, and it was genuinely the highlight of our entire evening. This cocktail should be on the menu immediately I was a bartender down in Santa Cruz and in the bay area and it is easily the most subtle and impressive cocktail I had in all of Portland. I hope this gets to management And I hope he gets his credit he did it without even trying That’s

Nick made our favorite cocktails out of everywhere we went on our Portland trip. He is knowledgeable and so kind. Great food and service! We will be back 🙌🏻

We really enjoyed this place 😊 My kids (6&8) said it was one of their favorite sushi restaurants. They liked the green machine roll. I enjoyed everything. The atmosphere gets the most stars. :)
