My bartender on Sunday the 5th was so friendly and awesome!

We were very excited to try this place, as we are fanatics about tapas. The photo on their website shows a big selection of tapas, just like you'd find in a bar in Spain. When we walked in on a Thursday night though, there was just a very paltry selection -- nothing like the photo. We did enjoy what we ate, which we washed down with delicious vermouth, so I'd go again, but our expectations were higher than the actuality.

This place has such tasty macarons! The service is amazing, such wonderful staff, plus coffee that tastes great.

This place is very neat. Wine and dessert bar, with perfect ambiance for a nice evening. Dessert collection is just exquisite. Macaroons are claimed to be the best in town by Oregonian, I personally did not find them that great, I have had softer and fresh macaroons.

Bar Vivant is a lovely spot for truly authentic tapas, and a large selection of drinks to go with them. Being able to get anchovies in vinegar, ham croquettes, and a Belgian beer takes me back to some of my favorite travel experiences, and the Pix Patisserie dessert options continue to provide a thrill. I have two quibbles that keep me from adding the fifth star - the Tortilla Espanola (closer to an egg and potato frittata than a Mexican tortilla) is served with a drizzle of red and a white sauces. A well made Tortilla (and this one is very nicely done) doesn't really need any embellishment. I'll try to remember to ask for the sauce on the side next time. The other issue I have is that the servers didn't appear to have received enough training to do justice to the things on the menu. Bar Vivant has a lot of wonderful offerings, enough of them that they really deserve better descriptions and recommendations.

Between the drinks, the savory and the sweet options, this is a very special place.

Fun little desserts with some Spanish style bar food and wines for days. A moody and rich interior seating area and a cozy if a little drab outdoors. They make up for it with outdoor movie nights projected on the wall. Good place for a date or date night but it won't be cheep if you're looking for a full meal so prepare. If you have an appetite my suggestion would be hit up a cheaper option for dinner than finish the night here with decadent sweets and a wine or sherry.

Lovely however they were out of my favorites! Must be a sign to branch out and try new things... The items we chose were nice but not the same. Had to buy the beautiful cookbook so I can make my own Royale at home! 😉 However to call it a cookbook does it a disservice, it's more like a work of art. Will honestly never make anything from it, most likely all out of my skill-level. One can dream!

Neat, eclectic spot for tapas and pintxos. The staff was a little confusing in terms of the specific way in which they wanted us to order and be seated. Solid drinks and attentive staff.
