Stopped by this bagel shop near Old Town and was a little underwhelmed compared to the other bagel shops in town. I really appreciated that there were 4 vegan shmear options- I went with the Savory Vegan on a Chipotle Salt bagel. The flavor of the bagel was awesome, but the shmear was not great. Texture was strange and not super flavorful. I’m glad I tried it but am not eager to return.Vegetarian options: 4 vegan shmear options

Highly recommend the herb schmeer! Good NY style bagels, 5/5 service, great coffee. Small but cute decorations to look like a subway station. No hand sanitizer or bathroom to wash your hands in though, so loses public health points for me.

Delicious schmear and bacon! Bagels could be a bit softer, but the flavor is delicious!

Not the most impressive bagels, and with no bathroom you aren’t supposed to dine-in.

Went in to order two plain bagels with cream cheese. Walked in and the lady working there just stared at me and said nothing. she would not respond to me when trying to place my order. After 6 minutes she finally tells me what do you want it’s going to be 20 minutes. I asked for just plain bagels with cream cheese and she had an attitude. Based on reviews I had higher expectations and would have expected better communication or even a greeting when entering this establishment. Would not eat here unless you like waiting and getting attitude for an outrageous cost of nearly 5 dollars for a bagel with cream cheese.

I ordered The Jesse Applegate (vegan cheese, egg, and sausage) on a sesame bagel. The sandwich looked and tasted buttery, but the menu doesn't mention that. It was good, but I would have enjoyed it more had there been somewhere to sit down to eat.

Good, old school bagels. Service is fast and friendly. Cool, laid back vibe. There is nowhere to sit, but there are counters to stand at.

This place is great for authentic New York-style bagels. Friendly people, too. My only complaint has to do with the neighborhood, because downtown is still a hellhole. Oh, and they need better signage, because I pedaled past here a number of times before ever realizing it was there.
Good spot for breakfast bagels. Lots of options to choose

Had a Jesse Applegate on parvesan. It was warm, delicious, hit the spot - and was fully vegan! Very friendly service, as well. Would recommend for a quick breakfast. Might be best to take it to-go though, as there is no seating area. (Sorry, no pictures... forgot to take some as I was too hungry!)

Busy spot, bagel sandwiches are ok, the espresso drinks are very sub par. Would recommend other spots in the relative area (spiel mans, rubensteins). Would probably just go with a bagel and schmear next time.

Best Bagels in Portland. Trust me, I’ve tried them all. Bowery goes a fantastic job and offer a bakers dozen at a great price. Wonderful bagel breakfast sandwiches as well! Worth the try, you won’t be disappointed.Note: Staff is always fast and friendly ☺️
