I grew up in NY, and this place stood up next to my favorite place in Chinatown (though that place is fully vegetarian, and this had mostly meat options - but vegan options include locally made tofu)! I got there fried tofu buns, with sides of napa cabbage coleslaw and chicken breast schezuan style , with schezuan sauce on the side (with tip ~$20 - I left fully satiated). The buns were soft but not soggy, even absorbing sauce from the coleslaw and the side sauce (which was absolutely delectable, and which I slatheted the tofu with and still had leftover), and the tofu was good with a light breaded fry, and the slaw had a nice acid element that really tied everything together nicely. The schezuan chicken was the star though - it was craveable in a way that I haven't experienced in a while - shredded chicken with onions and peppers all cooked expertly - fully cooked, but with a bit of a substantial bite, and covered in that amazing schezuan flavor.
I'm gonna be dreaming about that chicken (and I'm taking my leftover sauce). 12 stars. Seriously, Breaking Buns at Alchemy Cider is lowkey one of the best meals I've ever had.

Really flavorful and steamy bao-style buns right in the Alchemy Cider parking lot! Currently working through all the flavors but my favorite so far are the sweet and spicy orange chicken and the braised beef (extremely tender). The staff are super nice too. Would highly recommend this spot.
