Went for drinks. Enjoyed a nice rose from the Loire and the happy hour smoked chicken wings were delicious.

I don’t recommend this establishment. I was really looking forward to visiting Bullard Tavern, so maybe my elevated expectations set me up for disappointment. I ordered the King Salmon. For $38, I got a 2”x2” postage size sample with some sautéed cabbage on the side. Fully disappointed. However, the flavor was great and the chef prepared it well. My friend ordered the $27 burger, which would have been $18 a block away.Wait staff and server were the highlight. They were kind and did a great job. The space and decor were very nice. I felt comfortable and enjoyed people watching. We were seated right at the street-side windows, and I’m sure passers-by thought we were on a diet as we ate our meager portions. We came for the happy hour, but didn’t order any because none of the options seemed appetizing.

We found this place on google maps and had no idea what to expect when it said “TexMex”The food was very high quality. Rich bold flavors, perfect sized proportions, and excellent service. The food was typical American fine dining in a casual atmosphere, very Portland. I couldn’t figure out what made it TexMex other than the Texas flag on the wall, then I realized most dishes had jalapeños, cilantro, lime, or chimichurri. The flavors were bold, but never overpowering. There was spice, but nothing was hot or particularly spicy.I am hesitant to try new places and we got very lucky. We will definitely eat here again.

The menu was limited, but you don't need more than their pork chop. It was delicious! It came with roasted sweet potatoes, which didn't sound like something that would thrill me, but they proved to be amazing. I ate every one of them. The bread came with a mesquite butter that had an odd combination of sweet and bitter when it first hit my tongue, but then suddenly blended into something quite different and made me go, "Mmmmm!" Nice staff and nice atmosphere, too.

We had a cozy room just off of the main dining area. Food was incredibly good, expertly prepared .

Food and drinks were good but a bit on the pricey side. It's a nice place in a nice hotel so I get it. But charging an automatic kitchen service fee is ridiculous. Just pay your employees. I can go to one of twenty places with drinks and food just as good that doesn't add a fee. So I probably won't be going back to Bullard.

Good, but very over priced. $27 burger and fries. Why is it only the expensive restaurants that get away with “kitchen appreciation fees”? How about the business owner/corporation appreciate your kitchen instead of putting that on the customer after a $27 burger?

I ordered their take home and reheat thanksgiving dinner. The sound of reheating made me not have huge expectations but I was wrong. Bullard’s knocked it out of the park, the quality and flavor of every dish was top notch. Each dish had a nostalgia about it but was elevated beyond. Thank you Bullard’s team for a great thanksgiving dinner.

Very cute place, love the ambience and low lighting. Drinks were pretty good. Food might be the most basic sustenance I've had in Portland. $40 salmon absolutely not worth it. Friend had the $30 burger she said tasted like nothing, and fries had soooo much salt that they were in fact not edible.

I'm amazed to see this place was rated so high by others.I've been to Abigail Hall at a different time and food was bad, but decided to give the kitchen another try for brunch at Bullards and was still disappointed.Menu was largely seafood based for brunch, the breakfast sandwich and waffle we got were so flat - I didn't dare ask for any sauce because they charge for that.Only gets two stars because the ambience was nice, but if you want decent food this is not the place to go.

It's NOT TEX-MEX as stated on Google, it's more American Bistro with seafood, chicken, steak, and shareable plates.Cocktails are great and food is delicious! 5 of us shared the 2lb ribeye steak ($128) with fingerling potatoes and it was tasty and satisfying.

Bullard is exactly what you want from a restaurant/bar attached to a hotel. The food is upscale but not pretentious, drinks are solid and the vibe is cozy and warm. I got the burger and fries. While $27 is a little high, IMO, you have to expect some hotel inflation when going in. The burger was cooked as requested (medium rare) and the fries were solid.
