So far I have only ordered online. We ordered the Jambalaya and Gumbo. Both come with rice, and a piece of garlic bread and are huge! We had leftovers for a few days. Both were delicious on their own, or with the rice, or both mixed together in a bowl with the rice. Will definitely be back for a seafood boil someday!

Decided to try this place based on the recommendation that it received online. Those recommendations must be based on the bags or boil that they serve. Sadly we were looking for fried catfish and some collard greens. This is definitely not the place for that. It also seemed like there were several people working but there was only one person working the dinning room area. Like I said this review is only based on the clam chowder and the catfish which was ok but far from the best I have had. The clam chowder tasted like it was from a can. So I definitely would not reccomend going here just for that like I said seemed like they were popular for the bag boil. I feel like the guy working the dinning room was trying but after a few tables came in after he was kinda overwhelmed. The food was mediocre especially after eating at multiple places over the last four days, the service was mediocre and the decor seemed a little old and dated.

Fantastic crab, shrimp, and clam boil with sausage, potato and corn cob chunks in a brilliant cajun broth! An absolute wonderful experience that I highly recommend!

Wow! If you look this place up on Google Maps, it has rave reviews. No one in my party of 5 was happy with their food or the lack of options. It was the first place in Portland we ate at and it became the butt of our jokes. My party of five included people born and raised in Mexico, India, Malaysia and Swaziland and none of them enjoyed it.
We were the only ones dining there for the entirety of our experience.

I paid $50 for 5 pieces of the shrimp, a very thin crab leg cluster they put a bunch of potatoes in the bag at least 10 and one overcooked lobster that was very tough to eat. Would not recommend. Tried to call the restaurant manager and was very rude. When I asked for a refund I could’ve went to another restaurant and got double what they gave me for that price. If I could give negative stars, I would definitely -10 restaurant.
The fish and chips are delicious, and normally it's not a long wait but my last visit I had to wait 30 min before they even took my order. Otherwise great place to get food
We paid $22 for head off shrimp in our boil for a take out order because it was past 9pm. We got home to find no shrimp in our boil! Very disappointed.
Omg went in today the food was horrible the chowder was okay but I believe the catfish is previously frozen and had a horrible taste. Food came fast but I do not recommend this place at all. The food had no seasoning and salt is essential a little bit goes along way I also Recommend using fish fry cornmeal based for
The fish not pleased 😑
I was surprised this place was not busy! Almost empty inside but the service was excellent and food was delicious! Great place!
Restaurantji Recommends
Not a clean place , food is not good , and my whole table of (8) got food poisoning. Instead of an apology I was told I went somewhere else and got food poisoning. They also don’t do refunds would not recommend eating here unless your goal is to lose weight from not being able to eat for days my poor son is still unable to keep food down and he is 4 so you could understand the disrespect I felt when I didn’t even receive an apology or a resolution. 0/10 do NOT RECOMMEND
This is truely an amazing location.
I can say that I have a decerning eye for quality of service, presentation and of course the taste of a good meal. Captains choice Cajun seafood goes beyond expectations in all three categories ( a true rarity ) I will recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in great food and an amazing atmosphere.
EDIT: AFTER SHOPPING HERE MANY TIMES I NOTICED PORTION SIZES SHRINKING AND NOT GETTING VALUE FOR MY MONEY, PLEASE DISREGARD WHAT IVE HAD SAID PREVIOUS AS IT IS NO LONGER ACCURATE IN MY OPINION
I had a lobster tail special: a bowl of a lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp, corn, and potatoes. The food was delectable. It comes in a rich broth that you will want to soak the stuff in. Know your strengths - mild was already quite spicy. It was fingerlicking good. I'd say a special is a bit more than an average person can finish, so don't hesitate to share.
The drinks menu has beer, shoju, and soft and hot drinks.
The restaurant is very large. You won't have issues getting space for a group of 8+. The vibe is of a diner.

Recommended dishes: Snow Crab Legs, Lobster Tails
The only issue I've had is the snow crabs have been living in the tank too long, talked to owner and they made it right and said they'd improve. It can also be a bit expensive, $200 for my son and me no alcohol. But the sauce is the best by far of any crab boil place, far more complex and complimentary than the other places in Portland.
