The Cart Blocks is in a great location, next to so many stores and coffee shops to explore in downtown/NW. But, the food cart scene in Portland has leveled up compared to a decade ago and I feel The Carts Blocks has a few improvements they need to implement to make this food cart pod a great place to go.First big problem is the lack of covered seating, when we arrived it was a rainy, grey day (like it is most of the time in Portland) but there was no sufficient covering over any...
A convenient pod of trucks close to Powells Bookstore and Sizzle Pie. The food was decent but not the greatest for the prices. I’m glad I checked it out, but I likely wouldn’t go back as the location doesn’t feel the safest at night.
The good: there are a good number of trucks, at least 9-10, almost all open. All mouthwatering. Everyone was friendly. The food we had was really fantastic. Would eat here again. The semi cons: while it will be great when done, the construction means less seating and more dirt. It wasn’t a problem and will give the carts access to public water. So it should pay off. Also, it seemed a little dead, even though it was around lunchtime.
