Hometown Taste Reviews
Food was good.
Egg Foo Yung was thick and full of fatty oil. Chicken Cashew Subgum Chop Suey (not on menu) was tasteless and missing some critical ingredients. Hot & Sour Soup was too sweet, too spicy, and separated not long after being set aside. BBQ Pork appetizer came with hot mustard and sweet & sour sauce packets, but no red sauce and no sesame seeds for dipping. No rice was provided to go along with the two dishes that would usually have rice with them. No fortune cookies. Terrible...read full review
We went here, when it was Chiam, for 20+ years. Always loved the food, great quality, great portions, BBQ appetizer, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Steak Kew Chow Mein w/extra Pan-fried noodles, Shrimp & Scallop Kew Chow Mein, Mar Far Chicken, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's chicken, all were excellent. When we got it To-Go, it was put into the white cardboard like boxes which kept the food warm.
Now this place has bad food and puts it in plastic containers that doesn't keep the food...read full review

Hometown Taste is a Chinese restaurant offering a mix of traditional and unique dishes. The pot stickers with delicious sauce are a highlight, while the Kung pao shrimp is decent but not exceptional. The dry pot cauliflower with pork belly is flavorful, though lacking in pork belly. The BBQ pork, general tso's chicken, and prawns are top-notch, along with the spicy garlic broccoli. The service is fast and friendly in a cozy, updated setting. The twice-cooked pork belly is a standout, generous and perfectly cooked, with a perfect balance of spice and flavor. Adventurous eaters may enjoy the spicy soup with various ingredients or the hot and spicy seafood dried pot, packed with vegetables and seafood. The Yangzhou fried rice is a comforting classic, and the BBQ fried rice side is very well executed. The hot and sour soup is great, and the soup dumplings are yummy. The beef chow fun is flavorful, though the general tso's chicken is more like a light orange chicken with chili (not spicy). Convenient parking and an inviting atmosphere make it a go-to spot for Chinese cuisine.
