This is just not the experience I was hoping for. We were a group of five, for a batchlorette party. We chose this restaurant for its classiness and experience to spoil the bride. The first strange thing was our waitress saw that unneeded a drink refill. I said yes, please and she took my half empty glass away. We've dined at Departure a few times over the past 5 years. Whenever we make a trip to Portland, we try to make a stop there. The ambiance and service are always very consistently nice, however we were a bit disappointed in the food this time around. Our first few visits the food was mind-blowing and left an imprint on our minds. This time several of our dishes were way too salty and one dish in particular we didn't even try to finish. Nicely eclectic menu, great views of Portland from rooftop dining area. Our server was charming and efficient. We knew what to expect about dishes. A great sharing opportunity.
